Aluminum Siding Soft Wash on the Lake
This aluminum siding had developed years of organic staining, environmental buildup, and oxidation-related discoloration common in shaded, moisture-rich lakeside environments. Our soft wash process uses a sodium percarbonate-based cleaning solution that breaks down organic contaminants without relying on harsh chlorine bleach.
Because this property is located on the lake and surrounded by established landscaping, we chose a cleaning approach that is more environmentally conscious than traditional bleach-based washing. Sodium percarbonate breaks down into oxygen, water, and naturally occurring soda ash, making it a safer choice around sensitive plants, soil, and waterfront properties when applied properly.
Using low pressure and the right chemistry, we allow the solution time to dwell and do the work, reducing the risk of damage that can occur with aggressive pressure washing. The result is a cleaner exterior while helping protect the siding, landscaping, and surrounding environment.
A Note About Older Aluminum Siding:
While soft washing can dramatically improve the appearance of aluminum siding by removing organic growth and surface contamination, some discoloration may be the result of oxidation within the factory finish itself. Cleaning can often reduce the appearance of oxidation-related staining, but it cannot reverse permanent finish deterioration. Our goal is always to achieve the best possible restoration while being honest about what cleaning alone can accomplish.
