One of the most rewarding parts of my career is seeing a long term strategy pay off.

A couple of years ago we helped a new company secure coverage with a strong standard market carrier. That wasn’t the easiest placement but we believed in the account and worked with our carrier partners to make it happen.

From day one we were transparent with the client:

“The first couple of years won’t be cheap. Focus on building a strong safety culture, controlling claims, maintaining good payment history and proving you’re the type of risk carriers want to insure.”

Fast forward to this year’s renewal…

✔️ Approximately $50,000 in savings

✔️ Improved account performance

✔️ Additional financial benefits because of the client’s strong payment history

That’s what happens when you play the long game instead of chasing the lowest price every renewal.

Whether you’re launching a new company or you’ve been in business for decades, your program should evolve as your business earns better opportunities.

Staffing is one of the industries FIA specializes in, and we work with staffing firms across the country to build programs that improve over time… not just at renewal.

If you’re a business owner and you’re wondering whether your current program is positioned for long term success, we’d be happy to have a conversation.

“We can save you $20,000.”

That’s exactly what one of my clients was told by another insurance agency recently.

Instead of arguing we did something different… we compared both insurance programs line by line.

What we found wasn’t necessarily a cheaper insurance program but a different insurance program.

✔️ Millions less in insured property values.
✔️ Different liability limits.
✔️ Missing coverages.
✔️ Different payroll assumptions.

Price matters.

But as business owners, we all know there’s a difference between paying less… and getting less.

Insurance isn’t a commodity. It’s a contract that only gets tested on one of the worst days your business will ever experience.

My job isn’t to convince clients to stay with me.

My job is to make sure they understand exactly what they’re buying before they make a decision.

Sometimes another proposal truly is the better option and I’ll tell a client when that’s the case.

But every comparison deserves a review before anyone signs on the dotted line.

If you’ve received a “cheaper quote” I’d encourage you to ask one simple question:

Am I paying less for the same protection… or am I paying less because I’m transferring more risk back onto my business?

That’s a conversation worth having.

One thing I’ve learned is that how you lead Monday through Friday starts with how you prepare your heart on Sunday. Thankful for time at church this morning with my beautiful wife. Hope everyone has a great week.

One of my favorite events of the year is the GSA Golf Tournament. ⛳️

is one of our core specialties at Fallaize Insurance Agency, so this event is always a great opportunity to spend time with clients, referral partners, and industry leaders.

The golf is fun, but the conversations and relationships are what make this event valuable. It’s always encouraging to be around people who are passionate about helping businesses grow and solving workforce challenges.

Thank you to everyone who helped put together another great event. Looking forward to continuing the conversations and building new partnerships throughout the year.

Great people. Great connections. Great industry!

Business Owners: If your company has commercial vehicles on the road, dash cameras are no longer optional.

A single accident can turn into a costly “he said, she said” situation. Dash cams help:

✅ Protect your drivers from false claims
✅ Provide evidence after accidents
✅ Reduce time spent dealing with disputes
✅ Improve driver accountability and safety
✅ Support insurance claims with actual footage

One avoided claim can save thousands of dollars and in some cases, much more.

With Week happening now, it’s a great time to outfit your commercial vehicles at a discount.

Don’t wait until after an accident to wish you had video evidence.

Most business owners have been taught to think about insurance the wrong way.

Every year, they shop quotes.
Every year, they hope premiums go down.
Every year, they feel like victims of the insurance market.

Here’s the truth:

The insurance marketplace is only part of the equation.

The bigger opportunity is improving your company’s risk profile.

Most agents focus on renewals. I focus on helping clients become the type of company insurance carriers want to insure.

Why?

Because carriers don’t make decisions based on what happened this year. They look at long term performance. Loss history. Safety culture. Operational discipline. Claims trends. Risk management.

I take a 3-5 year view with my clients because that’s how the insurance market views them.

My job isn’t simply to find coverage.

My job is to help you:

• Improve your risk profile
• Become more attractive to insurance carriers
• Create leverage in the marketplace
• Gain control over your insurance program
• Build a stronger business

You may love your current agent, and that’s fine.

But if your agent only talks about insurance when it’s time to renew, you’re missing the bigger picture.

Insurance is a byproduct of business performance.

When performance improves, insurance outcomes improve.

I care deeply about the people I serve, and I’m committed to helping business owners think differently about risk, insurance, and long term success.

Plan. Re-plan. Execute.

That’s how great businesses win.

🌪️ Hurricane Season Is Here

Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30. While forecasts are calling for below normal activity, it only takes one storm to cause significant damage.

Now is the time to review your insurance coverage, understand potential coverage restrictions, and make sure your property is prepared before severe weather develops.

If you have questions about your commercial insurance program or storm preparedness reach out. We’re here to help.

Commercial insurance is costing business owners an arm and a leg right now… and unfortunately many are approaching the quoting process the wrong way because they don’t fully understand how the industry works.

Commercial insurance does NOT work like most industries.

A lot of business owners think:
“Let me get 3-5 agents quoting this and see who comes back cheapest.”

That strategy actually hurts you.

Here’s why:

There are only so many carriers that are truly competitive in your industry. Every time your business gets marketed, underwriters see that activity. Over time, your company develops a reputation in the marketplace… good or bad.

If 8-10 carriers review your account every single year and constantly hear “no,” eventually many stop taking the opportunity seriously. Some won’t even open the file. Others move it to the bottom of the stack.

And the dangerous part?

The carrier you burn today may be the exact carrier you NEED 2-3 years from now when the market shifts.

One of the first things I do when evaluating a new opportunity is call the top underwriters in that industry and ask:
“Have you seen this account before?”

If the answer is yes, they can typically tell very quickly whether the account is strategic… or if it’s simply been shopped every year with no real direction.

What I usually recommend:

• Find one agent/agency that truly understands your industry

• Make sure they have access to the right markets

• Build an intentional strategy

• Approach only the top 2-4 carriers most competitive for your business

A disciplined approach almost always gets better long term results than blasting the account everywhere.

I genuinely enjoy educating business owners on how the commercial insurance marketplace actually works because most have never been shown the behind the scenes side of underwriting and carrier relationships.
