Alumni Legacy Spotlight: The Ramsey Family 🎓🏀
Some legacies are built to last. For Erik (’93) and Eli (’18) Ramsey, Patriot Pride is a family tradition that spans generations.
Erik Ramsey (’93) moved across the globe with his military family before finding a permanent home at Carroll. On the court, he was a force—earning Second Team All-Ohio honors, 1993 Conference Player of the Year, and still sits as the 4th all-time leading scorer in program history. After playing collegiate ball at Lee University and Wright State, Erik returned home and now impacts our community daily as Carroll's Director of Student Development.
Twenty-five years later, his son Eli (’18) followed exactly in his footsteps. Eli led the Patriots to three District Finals appearances, earned 2x All-Conference honors, and matched his dad by being named the 2018 G.C.L. Player of the Year. Eli took his talents to the next level to play at Malone University, and today, he is passing that knowledge down in his second year as the Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Yellow Springs High School.
The ultimate full-circle moment? Sharing the same historic honor.
"My dad played and coached at Carroll as I was growing up," Eli says. "We both won conference player of the year, which is something I’m proud of because I share that accomplishment with my dad. I know how much work it took to accomplish that goal."
