The seeds you plant daily become the life you live eventually.

One of the ways I plant seeds every single day is by reading and writing my **"I Am" statement**.

Most people write goals based on what they want to have. I write statements based on who I want to become.

The key is to write it as if it's already true.

Not "I want to be disciplined."

"I am disciplined."

Not "I want to be successful."

"I am successful."

Not "I hope to become a great leader."

"I am a great leader who serves others with integrity and purpose."

When you consistently speak, read, and believe these statements, you begin to internalize them. Your actions start aligning with your identity because you naturally move toward who you believe you are.

The person you become tomorrow is shaped by the thoughts you reinforce today.

If you're in a season of planting, start with your identity. Plant the right beliefs now so you can harvest the right results later.

This is a powerful analogy because people often mistake a season of loss for a season of preparation.

Everything around you may look like it's dying.

The leaves are falling.
The grass is slowing down.
The trees are letting go.

But nature understands something we often forget: preparation happens before growth.

This morning I thought about overseeding a lawn. When you overseed, you're planting new seed in the fall before weeds have a chance to take over. You're preparing now for the lawn you want later.

That's how we should approach the difficult seasons in our lives.

When everything feels like it's falling apart, don't stop planting.

Plant discipline.
Plant faith.
Plant knowledge.
Plant healthier habits.
Plant better relationships.

The seeds you plant in your fall season will determine what blooms in your spring season.

The seasons will change. They always do.

The question isn't whether spring is coming.
The question is: What are you planting right now so your next season is better than your last one?

"Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Let them hate.

The moment people start talking about you, criticizing you, or rooting against you, it's usually a sign you're moving in a direction they aren't.

Think about it.

The people building businesses, chasing goals, leveling up, and creating the life they want don't spend their time tearing others down. They're too busy working.

The people doing better than you aren't watching your every move. They're focused on their own mission.

Hate rarely comes from above. It usually comes from people watching you do what they were too afraid to start.

So don't get distracted by the noise.
Don't argue.
Don't explain yourself.

Keep building.
Keep growing.
Keep showing up.

Your success isn't determined by their opinion of you. It's determined by your commitment to the vision God gave you.

After retiring from corporate America, here’s what I’d tell anyone starting their career. Show up. Stay teachable. Work hard even when no one is watching. Respect everyone. Protect your reputation. Don’t chase titles. Chase skills. The habits you build early will carry you farther than any promotion. Your character is the real currency. Build it with intention.

Check on someone. Send a birthday message. Reach out just to see how they’re doing. One person a day. One intentional touchpoint. It costs nothing but time, and the right conversation can give you the one word or one piece of advice that shifts your entire future. Build the relationships that build you.
