Mint Gold # MG021 will probably lead the Suffolk auction for the Center of the Nation Sale on 25th of July at the fairgrounds in Spencer, Iowa. This ram is currently the second highest ram lamb of all time for Carcass+. And with this crop of lambs the sire 23866 jumped a full 13 points in C+ to 188.8. Therefore, father and son are currently one and three in Carcass+ over all time. Carcass+ is the growth, muscle mass and fat index. MG 021 had an adj. loin eye of 3.92in2, the twin scanned 3.40. And 23866 the sire had an adj. scan of 4.05. Two grandsires adj. scans were 4.50 and 4.08 in2. As you can see 25 years scanning loin eyes can put consistency in offspring. But performance doesn't stop there, between weaning and scanning this ram had 1.65 lbs average daily gain, our highest this year.
