Big news from our family to yours.

We are officially announcing the Manatt's Family of Businesses (MFB), uniting Manatt's, Wendling Quarries Inc., LL Pelling Co., and Norris Asphalt Paving Co. & Douds Stone as one family of companies.

Same values. Same commitment. STRONGER TOGETHER.

We've made a deliberate choice to stay family owned and family led, for this generation and the next. To do that well, we've made some important changes:
• We've elected a Board of Directors to help guide our long-term future.
• We've built an enterprise leadership team to support all five of our operating companies.

We're excited to recognize Deb Gannon as our latest Wendling Way Award winner!

Deb was nominated by Cheryl Schroeder for going above and beyond when our busiest season kicked into high gear. As the workload increased, Deb didn't just lend a hand, she jumped in wherever she was needed.

She took on production reports, trained crews on using maintenance sheets, verified equipment locations, entered fuel sheets, all while keeping countless moving pieces organized. It was no small undertaking, but Deb handled it with a positive attitude and an unwavering commitment to the team.

Deb's willingness to support others, take initiative, and embody teamwork reflects exactly what the Wendling Way Award is all about.

When Moscow calls, DeCoda Answers!

We are excited to recognize DeCoda Garrison as our latest Wendling Way Award winner!

Nominated by Zach VanHouten, DeCoda has earned this recognition by living our core values through exceptional teamwork. Time and again, when the Moscow team needed support, DeCoda has packed up his tools and headed their way without hesitation.

From helping diagnose issues on multiple units to staying late until repairs are complete, DeCoda has done whatever it takes to keep equipment running and production moving. With the incredible demands Moscow has faced this year, every repair and every extra hour has made a difference.

DeCoda’s flexibility, commitment, and team-first attitude remind us that success isn't just about fixing equipment—it's about showing up for each other when it matters most.

👋Meet Our Interns!👋

We're excited to have interns joining us this summer! Throughout the next few weeks, we'll be introducing them and sharing a little about who they are, what they're studying, and what they'll be working on at Wendling.

Please join us in welcoming them to the team and following along as we highlight their internship experiences this summer.

To kick it off, meet Landon Fuller!

Hello everyone! My name is Landon Fuller and I am working my third summer here at Wendling. In the past, I have worked with the exploration drill team, worked on GIS and office projects, and helped with quality control. I go to the University of Iowa for geoscience and will be a senior next fall. I have enjoyed my time at Iowa thus far and love the earth sciences; I am hoping to get into graduate school to take my education as far as I can. In my free time I mostly spend time with friends and family.

This summer I will be working on several projects. The first thing I will be doing is taking a closer look at our passive seismic Tromino system to see how we can apply it in site exploration. Passive seismic gives us images below the surface by detecting noise from nature or human activities around it. I will also be looking at the rock ledges in our quarries and making descriptions of the beds within them. Another project I am working on is how we can best measure the density of stockpiles to help with inventory. The last thing I will be doing this summer is helping safety with decibel tests. I look forward to another great summer; thanks so much for the opportunity!
