Most leaders wait too long to address problems, and that's exactly what makes accountability conversations so stressful.

Here's a simple shift that will help: address issues early, while they're still small.

When you catch something on the line that isn't quite right, don't assume your team member will figure it out on their own. Go to them. Make the small correction while it's still small.

The more often you have these conversations, the better you get at giving feedback, and the more comfortable your team gets receiving it. That's how you build a culture of accountability without killing morale.

Two of the fastest ways to improve operational performance in your business?

Fractional COO Josh Post shared what he sees over and over again inside companies that are struggling to execute.

1️⃣ Talk to your humans.
Most management teams sit on a problem in silence. They sweat over it in their office, but the people doing the work usually have the answer — they've just never been asked.

2️⃣ Map your flow.
Every business that struggles with ex*****on doesn't have a clear, consistent way of moving work through the organization. Outlook calendars and printed sheets aren't a system.

Change is coming whether we like it or not. That's just the reality of manufacturing today.

So as a frontline leader, you've got a choice: be open-minded and experimental about change, or be the supervisor who's constantly complaining about it and putting it down.

The experimental mindset works.
Try something.
See what works.
Tweak what doesn't.
Repeat.

If you want a more positive working environment for your team, it starts with you.

"That's not the way we do things around here."

Ever caught yourself saying that when a new change gets announced at your plant? You're not alone. Resisting change is a totally normal human reaction. But here's the thing: as a frontline leader, your team takes their cue from you. If you push back on every new initiative, they will too.

The reality is, change is coming whether you like it or not.
New ERP systems.
New machinery.
New processes.
The question isn't if change will happen — it's how you'll respond when it does.

In this week's episode of Leader Feeder, Kirk breaks down why staying open-minded and curious is one of the most powerful habits a frontline leader can build and what that actually looks like on the shop floor.

Swipe through for 5 practical steps to build frontline leadership development into your organization.

And if it all still feels like a lot? Start small. Pick one thing and do it well. Maybe it's a conversation with each of your high-potential operators this quarter. Maybe it's a 90-day plan for the next supervisor you promote.

Any of those is a step forward.
