FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Valor Ranch Recipient of All-Terrain Vehicle
Decatur, Texas (Sep. 14, 2020) – Valor Ranch announced today that BRP, a global leader in power sports vehicles, teamed up with the Freedom Powersports dealership in Decatur to donate a Can-Am Defender to the ranch. The vehicle, valued at $22,000, was donated as part of BRP’s Can-Am for a Cause program.
“We asked dealers across Texas to nominate charities they felt would benefit from the utility of a Can-Am Defender,” said Brittany Kruglick, BRP Retail Operations Advisor, Western US. “Our goal is to select a diverse group of charities to win each year. If we feel that the mission is a great one to support, like Valor Ranch, we narrow the list until we get five winners. It's not an easy task to select who will win because there are a lot of worthy causes submitted to us from the dealer network!”
Chase Vance, Regional Operations Director, Freedom Powersports USA, said that as applications are reviewed by their organization, there are in-depth discussions about the charity’s needs and wants. Additionally, reviewers want to ensure there is alignment between the charity’s purpose and their organization’s morals and goals.
“Valor Ranch was an organization that we decided was tapping into a need, so to speak, with aiding SHEROES (Serving, Honoring, Empowering, and Restoring Our Esteemed Servicewomen),” said Vance. “This was a never-before-seen effort around our community.”
According to Kruglick, “Partnering with our local dealers to give back to nonprofit organizations is extremely important for BRP because it allows us to use our vehicles to make a positive impact on the communities in which we work and live. We wanted to include an organization that was committed to serving the military, and we loved Valor Ranch's mission of specifically looking to serve female veterans.”
Vance agrees. “Freedom Powersports is supported by not only our community but our military vets who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and that allows us to operate the way we do today. For Freedom to be able to donate a Can-Am Defender is just a small token of appreciation to show our gratitude.”
He describes the Can-Am Defender as a “work horse as well as an entertainment vehicle to fuel the escape of whoever is enjoying the machine. While the machine is designed for work, the creature comforts allow it to be used for leisure and entertainment.
Valor Ranch Founder Keri Anne Wilcox said the vehicle “has been a true blessing and has really helped with daily tasks on the farm.” Tasks include assisting with the hauling of feed and tools, conducting property tours with guests, herding cattle and birthing a calf.
