Canoe Creek Case Hardening We specialize in traditional wood and bone charcoal color case hardening! We share your passion for the outdoors and for beautiful case hardened guns!

We are located in northeast Iowa right in the heart of whitetail, pheasant and trout country. Our Process
First we prepare the parts by cleaning them of all grease and contaminants. Next we pack the metal with organic substances high in carbon. We heat the metal and keep it at a high temperature for an extended period of time. Next we do the critical quench incorporating carbon into the molecular

structure of the surface layer of the metal. The result is a beautiful surface coloration, a mottled gradient of colors unique to each gun. Each case hardened gun is one of a kind, a true work of art!

This is a 1876 Wi******er that we just did a full restoration on. We color case hardened the receiver, lever, hammer, butt plate and end cap, built a new butt stock and forearm in beautiful black walnut.
