Is it just us, or have interview questions gotten trickier to answer in today’s hiring climate? 🤔

Hinrichsen is our own resident expert on the topic, and reached out to her for her take on offbeat interview questions. She offered up this one: "What systems and/or technology have you used, and what's one thing you do to hold yourself accountable to learning a new system? Please provide an example."

Here’s what she said about it 👇

“As technology evolves and alternative technologies emerge, it's important that candidates not only have experience using multiple systems but that they've had to learn and adapt to new systems within an existing organization.”

According to , more than one million new workers will be needed to meet demand in the semiconductor industry by 2030. That equates to more than 100,000 new workers EACH YEAR.

This is a good time to remember that TALENT competitors are often different from your BUSINESS competitors. Semiconductor manufacturers will be identifying and reskilling workers from other industries – including yours – to fill their factories.

Calling yourself INCLUSIVE and FLEXIBLE in a job description in order to attract more women to your roles can backfire on you. Here’s what we mean 👇

➡️ INCLUSIVE

You need to create an authentic culture of inclusivity before it becomes part of your recruiting advantage in the market. You can’t attract women without women in roles. Being willing and capable of inclusivity is different that being inclusive.

➡️ FLEXIBLE

We see this word thrown around so often to describe a culture that it’s lost its meaning. Take the time to understand and articulate what flexible actually means in your organization. Keep in mind that flexibility means different things to different people, too.
