As our Norton vines are comfortably resting in dormancy, our focus has been on other areas of the farm. Today, we focused on installing an electric fence to protect our Peach Orchard, to which has recently seen some deer damage.

It was a beautiful fall morning watching the dense fog roll in and down through the vineyard. Our norton vines are doing good, they’re getting ready for their winter slumber.

We removed all of the grow tubes to give our Norton vines time to acclimate and harden off for cooler weather and the winter. It was a great first year in the vineyard; we saw a lot of positive growth. This fall/winter, we will focus on getting the line post, trellis wire, & end post installed.

Farm Update: With fall and cooler weather nearing, at the vineyard, we are preparing to remove the grow tubes to allow the vines plenty of time to harden. Deer have been a problem, so in order to protect the vineyard, we have been working on installing a netted fence as well as an electric fence. At the flower garden, orchard, and pumpkin patch; we are seeing blooms from our pumpkins and flowers but it’s not without fighting off the pests.
