You may notice some of our firefighters wearing a special badge throughout the NBA season. It is a tribute to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the defending NBA champions, and the championship caliber effort they bring to our city every single day.

At OKCFD, we share that same team mindset. We show up for each other, work toward a common goal, and give our best to serve the residents of Oklahoma City.

We are proud to support a team that represents our community with heart, grit, and unity.

Trooper Jim Parish #504 recently shared with OHP Chief Pat Mays a text he received from his personal preacher.

"I saw a trooper today while I was in Casey's. She was there not getting anything for herself but was buying a guy some food. I was impressed."

Trooper Parish confirmed his preacher was referring to Trooper Stevie Perkins #922. He commended her for her work and told her she was noticed.

Trooper Perkins responded to him by text - "I appreciate that, but I was just doing what God called us to do and that's help people, especially when they are less fortunate!"

Way to go Trooper John Toombs #830! We received this message earlier this week.

"I would like to recognize and THANK Trooper Toombs #830. Today while returning from TX my vehicle suddenly died on I44 between Lawton and Elgin. With the bad weather and the slick roads traffic was very “sketchy”. Being a police officer myself I very much understand the dangers of being on the side of the road, and was concerned for my family’s safety as they were with me. As I was attempting to figure out the problem also trying to get a ride for my family to get them off the icy highway Trooper Tombs arrived like Batman summoned by the bat signal and gave my family a ride home getting us out of the line of danger. Thank you again Brother. Greatly appreciated!"
