This year marks the 400th anniversary of the first Thanksgiving in New England. Remembered and retold as an allegory for perseverance and cooperation, the story of that first Thanksgiving has become an important part of how Americans think about the founding of their country.
But what happened four months later, starting in March 1622 about 600 miles south of Plymouth, is, I believe, far more reflective of the country’s origins – a story not of peaceful coexistence but of distrust, displacement and repression.

The communion between Native Americans and the Pilgrims makes for a compelling narrative. But it masks the suspicions and brewing violence that were far more representative of the era.

Today BioNTech and the American pharmaceutical group Pfizer revealed the first data results from their Phase 3 clinical study for the vaccine candidate BNT162b2.
Phase 3 of the trial involved 43,538 participants. These participants received two doses of either the immunization or a placebo, with 90 percent protected from the virus within 28 days of having their injections.
The vaccine candidate was found to be more than 90% effective in preventing COVID-19 in participants without evidence of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection in the first interim efficacy analysis. The study enrolled 43,538 participants, with 42% having diverse backgrounds, and no serious safety concerns have been observed; safety and additional efficacy data continue to be collected.

Police kill unarmed people in the street, the government is polarized and corrupt, and the institutions are failing.

Thunberg can't vote in the election, her endorsement echoes the importance of the youth climate movement in the U.S. Biden has vowed to make tackling the climate crisis a top priority of his administration if elected.

Youth climate activist Greta Thunberg has officially endorsed Joe Biden for president.

‘I never engage in party politics. But the upcoming US elections is above and beyond all that,’ the 17-year-old Swedish activist tweeted over the weekend. ‘From a climate perspective it’s very far from enough and many of you of course supported other candidates. But, I mean…you know…damn!
Just get organized and get everyone to vote .’
