Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Texas..

Devils River At Bakers Crossing 19N Of Comstock affecting Val Verde County.

Devils River At Cauthorn Ranch Near Juno affecting Val Verde
County.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is
forecast.

* WHERE...Devils River at Cauthorn Ranch Near Juno.

* WHEN...Until Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, (5.5 meters), Major lowland flooding above
Ozona to Amistad Reservoir floods.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 12:15 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 16.7 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 12:15 PM CDT Thursday was 16.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.3 feet
this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow
morning.
- Flood stage is 8.0 feet.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground. Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water. The National Weather Service Has Issued a Flood Advisory for Val Verde County.

Flood Advisory issued September 30 at 10:49PM CDT until October 1 at 3:00AM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.

* WHERE...North Central Val Verde County in south central Texas...

* WHEN...Until 300 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1046 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 1
and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the
area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. This
heavy rain area will move across the same locations that received
a heavy rain in the early morning hours Wednesday. This will make
small streams respond more rapidly and could make rural low water
crossings impassable.

At 956 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Langtry, moving
east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of west
central Val Verde County.

* Until 945 PM CDT.

* At 847 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Pumpville, or
16 miles northwest of Langtry, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

At 825 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles south of Carta Valley, or 16 miles south of Loma Alta, moving
south at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

At 455 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Cienegas Terrace, or 7 miles west of Del Rio, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Del Rio, Lake View, Val Verde Park, Standart, Cienegas Terrace,

* At 448 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Laughlin AFB to 15 miles west of Quemado,
moving southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Spofford, Quemado, Paloma, Anacacho, Radar Base, Normandy, Darling,
