Last Wednesday, September 2nd, we took Babes, Booze & Business West Volusia to The Salted Goat in DeBary, and honestly… what a night. 💜

Cat and her team took such good care of us with some seriously tasty wings and fried tomatoes for everyone to snack on while we connected, laughed, and got to know some of the amazing women around the table.

And then there was The Medicine Bar 👀

Christy, the owner, and Melody, her manager, brought out one of their creations for us to try, and let’s just say… we got to taste collagen in a glass! 😂💜

The tonic they created for us had purple cabbage juice, lime juice, orange juice, guava juice and a few other goodies mixed in. It was definitely not your average drink, and I loved getting to experience something completely different together!

But what really stood out to me was the heart behind this place.

Christy and Melody have created such a unique space where everyone is welcome, no judgment, no pressure, and no expectations. You can come in for yoga, check out a local vendor, enjoy a local music night, grab a glass of wine, or try one of their healthy, non-alcoholic elixirs and simply enjoy being there.

And THAT is the kind of local business and community space we love discovering through Babes, Booze & Business.

We aren't just here to network. We're here to experience local businesses, support women and entrepreneurs, make genuine connections, and find the places that make our community a little better. 💜

Thank you to Cat and the entire Salted Goat team for hosting us, and to Christy and Melody at The Medicine Bar for introducing us to something new!

And to all of our West Volusia babes who showed up Wednesday night… thank you for continuing to make these meetups what they are. Smaller conversations, new connections, big laughs, and a room full of women who are willing to show up and actually CONNECT.

That’s what this is all about. 💜

BABES, ONE OF OUR OWN NEEDS US.

I’m sharing this on behalf of our very loved member, Hayley Riley of Hayley’s Heavenly Cheesecakes.

If you’ve been to one of our meetups, chances are you know Hayley. You’ve probably tasted one of her incredible cheesecakes, because she is constantly showing up for this community and giving her time, her talent, and her desserts simply because that’s the kind of woman she is.

She is one of the sweetest, most generous women you’ll meet, and right now, Hayley needs that same love poured back into her.

Her husband recently suffered a very serious heart attack, and as if that wasn’t enough for one family to navigate, Hayley is also dealing with a new medical diagnosis of her own.

This has created an overwhelming amount of stress, anxiety, uncertainty and financial hardship for their family.

There are so many things that come with a medical emergency that people don’t see. The appointments. The recovery. The time away from work. The unexpected expenses. The emotional weight of not knowing what comes next.

And Hayley is now carrying the added responsibility of caring for her husband while trying to take care of herself, too.

We cannot let one of the women who has spent so much time pouring into everyone else feel like she has to carry this alone.

This is what BBB is about.

It’s about more than networking.
It’s about showing up.
It’s about taking care of our own.
It’s about remembering that behind every business owner is a real woman with a real life, a real family and sometimes very real struggles.

So today, I’m asking our BBB family to rally behind Hayley and her husband.

If you are able to contribute financially, even a small amount can help relieve some of the immediate pressure they are facing.

If you can’t contribute financially, there are still so many ways to help.

Order from Hayley when she is able to take orders.

Last night’s **Babes, Booze & Business East Volusia** meetup at Pumphouse in Ormond Beach may have been a little smaller than usual with 25 amazing ladies, but let me tell you… **it definitely wasn’t quieter!** 😂

Sometimes the smaller groups are exactly what we need. They give us a chance to slow down, really talk to the women sitting next to us, and get past that surface-level “So, what do you do?” networking.

And last night, we DID. ❤️

We got vulnerable. We laughed. We shared. We learned some seriously cool and interesting things about the women around the table, and those conversations broke down that little barrier that can sometimes keep us from really connecting.

We also went places that women don’t always feel comfortable talking about… like **female health, our lady bits, and all the things nobody seems to warn us about!** 😂

We talked about how so many women grow up never really talking about these things, how nobody seems to prepare us for premenopause, and apparently how at some point you might find yourself crying at… well… even p**n. 😂😂

Yes, that was an inside joke.
No, you really had to be there. 🤣

But honestly, THAT is what makes BBB what it is.

A place where you can show up as yourself.
A place where you can laugh about the ridiculous parts of being a woman.
A place where you can talk about the hard stuff without judgment.
And a place where you can walk in not knowing anyone and leave feeling like you actually connected with someone.

We also had **SO many prizes**, lots of new faces, and our **BIGGEST 50/50 pot yet!** 🎉

And congratulations to **Marcia Oliver**, who took home **$75** from the 50/50! 💰

To every woman who joined us last night, thank you for bringing your real selves to the table. It was so good getting to know each of you a little better, and I hope you left feeling just as connected as I did.

**25 women. A whole lot of laughs. Some very real conversations. And absolutely zero surface-level networking.**

That’s a pretty good night in my book. 😉💗
