It quickly became evident that the recycling of scrap plastic is a universal issue that needs to be addressed. All manufacturing companies struggle with the production of scrap and how to most efficiently handle it. This opportunity formed the basis for
D. Plastics' business plan-provide scrap recycling services to manufacturers and packaging companies within the plastic industry. Although Russ B
lakeley began the company with an initial focus on business to business plastic recycling, he saw the need to integrate into other associated services and products. In response to our core customers' requests for shipping their outbound freight, Russ secured common carrier freight authority and launched D. Plastics' trucking division. Warehousing and distribution came next as companies needed centrally located space to store their product. Over 230,000 square feet of warehouse space was secured with 20 acres of laydown yard and a railroad spur of the Wisconsin Southern Central Railroad. This accessible spur now makes it convenient and economical for companies to send their railroad cars of resin (or other materials) to our location in southeastern Wisconsin, instead of the overcrowded and expensive railyards south of Chicago. Plastics' purchase of dry bulk tankers to haul the resin completes our "one stop shopping" package for resin brokers, extruders and packaging companies. is proud to announce that we have acquired extruding and converting capabilities and are now poised to offer custom and stock polyethylene film and bags. Our company is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals. We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best pricing and service in the industry.
