To say that the shop is full right now would be an understatement! 77 individual sash units either in the process of restoration or waiting to be next.

An excellent post from our friends in Virginia about traditional quicklime.

Happy Window Wednesday! First post of 2024 and first sets of windows being removed in a building in Urbana Ohio, as well as the first windows going back in at a home here in Delaware. Lots of work to do, lots of history to save!

Not to toot our own horn, but we have some pretty impressive people working for us here in the shop! This sign once hung on a doctors office in the village of Waldo Ohio and has been touched up, it will now hang in the Marion County Historical Society’s museum in Marion Ohio. Can you tell which side is original?

Well it’s officially window season for us here at Northwick Preservation, hardware restoration for several different projects as well as windows out of three different buildings here in Delaware. Also on the bench this week is a sign from a doctor’s office in the village of Waldo Ohio.

The week in review, this line of work takes me to some amazing places, as we begun the restoration of the original windows out of this incredible structure, I was in awe at the construction. Next I found myself in what could possibly be considered the smallest courtyard I have ever seen. An accidental space created by closing off an alley, with no access other than lowering down a ladder and climbing down into it.

🪟Window Wednesday!
Brought to you by 100yr old glazing that is so dry and brittle, but rather stubbornly, doesn’t want to come off.
It’s all good, these windows will be going into the steam box for a good long time, and then that glazing will pop right out. Happy Restoring 🫶🏻
