Special Congratulations to Mike George #1 Co-Angler of the Year - The National Walleye Tournament Series.

Mike finished as the Overall Co-Angler points champion for 2026.

There were 208 Co-Anglers registered in 2026, with 32 states and 1 province of Canada represented.

Mike figured he spent 88 hours of fishing time, enjoyed 5 – 5 day weekends, Cashed 4 checks in 5 tournaments ( all entry fees were covered easily), Traveled 6,434 miles, 645 miles traveled on water in a boat, went to or through 7 different states to get to the tournaments, and registered over 271lbs of fish on the scales or equivalent to a 1/8 of a ton.

What a 30 year trip for Mike - Congratulations Co-Angler of the year- national walleye tournament series!!!!

I think we might see him in this event next year.....

Additional Equipment hits the floor again...

We received (3) more additional pieces of new equipment this week, (2) BMX Rapidos, and our 2nd Rebuilt ACME Machine.

A few other machine moves, finalizing our Quality-CNC Re-organization and addition, and we are off and running for 3rd quarter.

The logistics and ex*****on of these projects is crucial & complex, we could not do it without our Top Notch staff and the meaningful supplier relationships we have built over the years.

We again thank our Screw Machine & CNC Division Maint. & Facilities teams along with our key vendors on these projects, Holp & Sons (Brookville, Oh), Kahle Technologies (Ottawa, Oh),and Brett May with BME (Port Huron, MI).

Now the challenge is getting the new equipment installed, set-up and operational...

Vanamtic hosted their third and final food truck of the season today – Kevin’s Kajunette Food Truck!

Kevin's Kajunette is based out of Findlay, OH. This is their first time at Vanamatic and we have a feeling it won’t be the last.

Kevin and Rachel serve Cajun Soul food with big flavors including: jambalaya, wings paired with creole fries, and steak and shrimp pasta bowls. The alligator bites and voodoo rolls were also a huge hit with the staff. Everyone thought the food was amazing.

A special thank you to Kevin’s Kajunette for serving our staff and to Vanamatic for treating us with another delicious food truck this season!

National Walleye Tournament Series UPDATE!!

Congratulations to Mike George for not only qualifying for the NWT National Championship August 27th - 29th at Lake Sakakawea, Garrison, North Dakota - BUT ALSO FINISHING IN 1st PLACE as the #1 Co-angler in the Tournament Series for 2026.

On behalf of everyone at Vanamatic we are so proud of Mike!!!
After finishing 28th out of 123 at this past weekends tournament in Green Bay, WI, Mike is the #1 Ranked Co-Angler in the National Walley Tournament Series.

What an accomplishment to finish in 1st place over 4 events around the Midwest. Mike's original goal was to just make the National Championship, now he is the Co-angler to beat, what a 30-year trip!!!

We are all pulling for Mike and wishing him the best of luck at Nationals in August. No matter what, Mike has surely had a memorable experience and has definitely shown the pros what 50 years of Walleye fishing on Erie can do in a tournament series.

Next up on the Vanamatic Summer Food Truck schedule is Not Your Mama’s Grilled Cheese!

This is their second summer at Vanamatic and today the staff enjoyed a variety of specialty grilled cheese sandwiches on thick sliced bread ranging from spicy steak, to chicken bacon ranch, a jalapeno smash and Carolina pork melts. Paired with baked beans, chips and a drink – the employees found it delicious!

Huge shout out and congratulations to Michael on the new truck and for serving up our staff today - thank you. We would also like to thank Vanamatic for treating our employees to another lunch – we appreciate it!

Vanamatic would like to congratulate JOSH GROGG for celebrating 20 years of service this month!

Josh was hired in June 2006 where he originally started in the shipping department. Josh then moved on to Screw Machines where he has spent a majority of his time gaining a great amount of experience working for multiple groups over the years including NECCREW, ChipBreakers, X-Cell, and Cross Trainers. For the past year+ he has been gaining even more experience by working alongside Randy McElroy in the tool room as our Tool Maker/Assistant Lead.

Some of Josh’s favorite memories include decorating the tool room for Halloween, the annual golf outings and currently being the reigning Vanamatic Dynasty Fantasy Football Champion!

We would like to thank Josh for his dedication and commitment to the Vanamatic Family for all these years.

National Walleye Tournament Series Not too big for MIKE GEORGE!

As part of Mike's 30 year trip from Vanamatic, he has just finished the 3rd of 4 legs in the 2026 National Walleye Tournament Series and is doing very well!!

So Far Mike has the following finishes;

Leg #1 - Lake Eire, Monroe, MI - 71lbs 6oz. - 5th Place out of 132
Leg #2 - Lake Oahe, Mobridge, SD - 24Lbs 3oz. - 51st out of 159
Leg #3 - Day de Noc, Gladston, MI - 50lbs 12oz.- 14th out of 108

Now sitting in 2nd place going into the final leg!!!

Mike needs to finish in the top 40 overall after all 4 legs to earn a spot in the National Championship Tournament in North Dakota in August.

One more leg to go, July 30th - 31st, Bay of Green Bay, Oconto, Wisconsin - Keep on whack'em Mike, we are all pulling for you!!

Very Busy Few Weeks … New Machines, AC, Chip System, Summer Food Truck!!

Lots of improvements and investments going on at Vanamatic over the past few weeks! We received new equipment, BMX Rapido, bar feeders, additional Takamaz 2nd Op machine, our First Rebuilt ACME Machine is up and running, another to arrive in Sept., completed the CNC Division Quality Lab expansion, installed the new Chip Processing system at the CNC Div. & finally the welcome addition of New Air Conditioning for Building #2-CNC.

The logistics and ex*****on of these projects is crucial & complex, we could not do it without our Top Notch staff and the meaningful supplier relationships we have built over the years. We again thank our Screw Machine & CNC Division Maint. & Facilities teams along with our key vendors on these projects, All Temp Refrigeration (Delphos, Oh), Holp & Sons (Brookville, Oh), Kahle Technologies (Kalida, Oh), Chip Systems International (Scotts, MI), Brett May with BME (Port Huron, MI).

Also want to thank Staff Member Chad Lambert for custom making our new Main Office entrance sign.

With all the activities going on, the timing was perfect to Kick off our Summer Food Truck season. Shafer's Smoked Meats, who received the most votes by Vanamatic Staff in December, kicks off the season. On display was a variety of smoked meats and sides including brisket, pulled pork, baked beans and mac-n-cheese bowls. Toss it all together for their famous loaded nacho. Huge shout out to Paul, Dawn, & Kylie for always serving up our staff the best BBQ around – we appreciate it.

Thank you to Vanamatic for feeding our now 182 Staff Members at both Divisions!!

Additional Equipment Added

Building #4 at the CNC division is beginning to take shape, 5 new pieces of equipment will be added and put into service over the next few months as our growth continues. Additional equipment is also underway for the Screw Machine Division. We could not do with without our unbelievable staff and the partnerships we have with our key suppliers, H.R. Holp & Son Moving & Rigging and Kahle Technologies.
