Inflammaging — a term coined by immunologist Claudio Franceschi in 2000 — describes the chronic, low-grade systemic inflammation that accompanies aging and drives many of its most serious consequences.

It is now one of the most studied phenomena in geroscience, with research linking elevated inflammaging markers (IL-6, TNF-α, CRP) to cardiovascular disease, neurodegeneration, metabolic dysfunction, and accelerated tissue aging — independent of any specific diagnosed disease.

Photobiomodulation (630–850nm) has been shown to downregulate NF-κB — the master transcription factor governing inflammaging — and reduce systemic inflammatory cytokine levels in multiple peer-reviewed trials.

You don't feel inflammaging. But it's measurable in your blood, and it's affecting your biology every day.

That’s exactly what AuroraBox delivers.

AuroraBox 60 Pro: 5 clinical wavelengths at medical grade irradiance peak. 10 minutes within 30 minutes of waking. Before phone. Before coffee. Used in 30+ clinics.

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is one of the most critical molecules in human biology — required for DNA repair, mitochondrial function, and the activity of longevity-associated sirtuins.

Research published in Science (Verdin, 2015) documents a significant decline in NAD+ levels beginning in the mid-30s, correlating directly with reduced cellular repair capacity, mitochondrial dysfunction, and accelerated aging markers.

Red light therapy (630–850nm) has been shown to upregulate SIRT1 — a NAD+-dependent deacetylase linked to cellular longevity — and to directly stimulate mitochondrial ATP synthesis via cytochrome c oxidase activation.

Aging isn't one thing failing. It's your repair system falling behind. And that gap can be narrowed.

This is why AuroraBox was built.

AuroraBox 60 Pro delivers all 5 clinical wavelengths (630, 660, 810, 830, 850nm) at 354 mW/cm² peak. Used in 30+ clinics nationwide. The full panel for the price most pay for a single Ulthera session ($2,000-4,000). $249 once.

Facelifts cost $15,000-50,000. They cut and reattach skin, they don’t restore the cellular machinery that produced young skin in the first place. Within 5-10 years, the underlying tissue continues aging. The surgical result fades.

Beverly Hills plastic surgeons now privately tell patients to delay surgery as long as possible by addressing the cellular layer first. The technique they recommend: daily clinical-grade red light therapy targeting fibroblasts.

Red light at 660nm reaches 1-4mm into the dermis — the exact layer surgeons cut into. Cytochrome c oxidase in fibroblast mitochondria absorbs the photons. ATP production rises. Fibroblasts begin producing collagen at accelerated rates again. The structural rebuild happens cellularly instead of surgically — no downtime, no scarring, no $35,000.

A 136-volunteer clinical trial (Wunsch & Matuschka, Photomedicine & Laser Surgery 2014) measured intradermal collagen density via ultrasound after 30 sessions of 630nm + 850nm red light. Statistically significant collagen density increases. Improved complexion. Reduced fine wrinkle depth.

A 2024 study (Antioxidants/MDPI) documented 808nm near-infrared light inhibits cellular senescence — slowing the fibroblast aging that drives sagging.

This is why AuroraBox was built.

There’s a loop researchers keep running into under a lot of chronic inflammatory conditions: when mitochondria get dysfunctional, the cell can’t make enough energy to repair itself, so it stays stuck in an inflammatory state, which damages more mitochondria. Round and round.

Most approaches manage the inflammation downstream. Fewer things work at the mitochondrial point where the loop actually feeds itself.

That’s the layer red and near-infrared light acts on. The wavelengths are absorbed by cytochrome c oxidase in the mitochondria, supporting ATP production… and the research shows red light also modulates inflammatory signaling directly. In skin studies, the majority of users saw reduced inflammation and improved texture within a couple of weeks.

Now the honest part, because this matters: this is cellular support, not a treatment or cure for any autoimmune condition, and nothing here replaces your doctor. What it offers is support at a layer that’s often ignored entirely.

If you’ve spent years managing symptoms and never once heard the word “mitochondria,” that’s the conversation worth having, with your doctor in the loop.

The AuroraBox 60 Pro delivers the wavelengths that mechanism runs on, at clinical irradiance.

Chronically elevated cortisol is associated with skin getting thinner and more fragile, with collagen breaking down fast...
05/27/2026

Chronically elevated cortisol is associated with skin getting thinner and more fragile, with collagen breaking down faster than the skin can rebuild it. The puffiness comes and goes with your salt and sleep. The structural collagen loss doesn’t bounce back on its own.

So reducing the bloat (water, sleep, less salt) is fine, but it’s treating the symptom everyone can see, not the damage that actually accumulates.

The damage is happening at the collagen layer, in the dermis. Which, conveniently, is exactly the layer red light is studied on — the wavelengths that signal fibroblasts to rebuild collagen, the same mechanism behind every skin study we’ve talked about.

To be straight: “cortisol face” itself is more of a social-media term than a formal diagnosis, and the experts pushing back on the puffiness panic have a point. But the underlying idea, that chronic stress costs you collagen, is sound. That’s the part worth acting on.

The AuroraBox 60 Pro supports the rebuild side of that equation. Ten minutes a day is all it takes…
