Update on Luke Oakley. Over the past few weeks Luke has stayed with more incredible host families and met up with his dad in Las Vegas who will es**rt him to the west coast. Luke plans to arrive at Venice Beach by the Santa Monica Pier Monday at 2:30. I actually have lifelong friends flying in to be there when he arrives. I wish I could be there but my daughter who is also an Airman is pregnant and will be giving birth to my first grandson any day now.
Y’all pray for me lol. If you live near the area where Luke will be there on Monday please join him as I believe someone is contacting the media and how cool would it be for him to have a big crowd there to celebrate this journey. For the ones who are new to this page, my son started a trip seven weeks ago, from Myrtle Beach South Carolina traveling to California on an electric unicycle. He is raising money and awareness for the Veterans and has set up a go fund me page to support the Wounded Warrior’s Project. He has stayed with over 20 military families along the way and has met the most incredible people and has many more to meet before he comes home in August. Luke plans to stay in California for a few weeks. I will be reaching out to everyone who has commented about hosting him in California to see if you are still available to host him. I cannot say thank you enough to everyone who has helped him and me through out this journey. Luke has proven that there is more kindness than meanness in this great country we live him. Yesterday, I spent the entire day connected to my laptop and phone. I set up meetings, I took meetings, I did a few trainings, I designed and published my website, I redid my business cards, and a few things in between.

It was a jam packed day and it was exhausting. I went to bed barely before sunrise. I had never done anything with a website before. I took trainings where I had to look up the definitions of some words. It was scary. It was intimidating.

Do you know what the best thing about it all is though?? I did it for ME! I did it for my SON! I did it for ROMEO! I did it my way. It’s ok not to know how to do things. It’s ok to make mistakes and have to redo it. Just keep pushing forward!

So what’s in store today? SELFCARE!!! Selfcare is essential to keep you at your best so that you can do your best! Take care of yourself FIRST. So Romeo and I are off to repot our plant babies!
