Suspended Palm Beach County Clerk Michael Caruso was denied bond during his first court appearance Monday morning on five felony child s*x abuse charges.

The judge called the no-bond warrant "appropriate based upon the nature and extent of these particular charges" and rejected the defense's request for an extradition bond.

Caruso will remain in custody until Orange County officials transport him to face the charges.

The Delray Beach Police Department's Traffic Unit, working alongside officers, will conduct a DUI Enforcement Operation from 6 p.m. Thursday July 2, through 2 a.m. Friday.
This proactive operation is intended to keep residents and visitors safe as traffic increases ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Officers will focus on identifying and removing drivers impaired by alcohol or drugs from our roadways.
Anyone planning to celebrate should make arrangement for a safe ride home. Choose a designated driver, use a rideshare service or take advantage of another transportation option. Never drive impaired.
Our goal is simple: to keep our roads safe so everyone can enjoy a safe and memorable Independence Day weekend.

It’s that time of year again 👀 A massive plume of Saharan dust is expected to move into Florida this weekend. The thickest dust is expected to arrive Saturday night into Sunday.

While extremely sensitive groups may notice slightly lower air quality, most people are not expected to be impacted. The dry, dusty air is also expected to lower rain chances, increase sunshine, and send temperatures soaring through the weekend.

The annual Saharan dust plume also helps suppress tropical development across the Atlantic by bringing drier air into the region.
