A report by a human capital management software firm, Ceridian, revealed that 62% of global executives believe that freelancers, or gig workers, will substantially replace full-time employees within the next five years.

VP of global talent acquisition at Ceridian, Steve Knox, stated that they are seeing a trend where full-time employees are beginning to embrace the tenets of the gig economy and are seeking roles for shorter periods of time with multiple organizations.
