Sometimes the best recruiting work has nothing to do with resumes, and we were recently working with a candidate whose situation was a great reminder of why we prioritize fulfilled people over filled positions.

We were working with a candidate who was in a tough spot. They were between jobs, juggling family responsibilities, and feeling defeated after a string of rejections. They had all the right skills, but it was clear their confidence had taken a hit.

Instead of rushing them into another interview, we took a step back and slowed down. We helped them reframe their story, practice talking about their strengths, and reminded them that they weren’t just looking for a job, but for the right fit.

A week later, they walked into their interview with a whole new vibe. The hiring manager told us afterward, “I chose them because I could tell how passionate they were by the way they spoke."

The candidate got the job. But what mattered most wasn’t getting hired, it was that they left the process believing in themselves again. That's why we never look at what we do as just filling roles, because the person on the other side of the resume is what it's really all about.
