The unfortunate truth of owning and running a business.
Running a business is really hard.
What they don’t tell you is that it can cause severe stress and anxiety, and drains you mentally to the point of depression in even the most laid back people.
People will talk about you, compare you to others, use you, they will view you as a service and not a person anymore.
A few will expect discounts and people will value you and your hard work less than a big chain store.
You have to worry about if you forget to email/message someone back, are they going to think it was on purpose? Did you disappoint them? Will they hold that against you? When in reality you just can’t get to everyone’s messages and emails.
Starting up and running a successful business puts incredible strain on personal lives and relationships, many of which fail because there is just often no work life balance. You need to be the director, the worker, the admin, the marketing team, the accountant, the cleaner..... All whilst being a parent, a husband or a wife, family support, friend... it’s one of the hardest things you will try and balance
There’s a reason you don’t see many people succeed in small businesses after 5 years. If they are successful they are overwhelmed. It takes a toll. It’s freaking exhausting. Especially the past year when so much has been out of our control.
Here’s a small reminder that we are just normal people with hectic lives. Be kind, be patient, support small businesses…….and hopefully more of us will stick around!

It’s been a very busy last week… getting things caught up with the amount of rain we have had in the past weeks.
Took care of these trees this past weekend.
Brought in an outside source to take care of the stump grinding.

So here is most of the plants in the ground…. Still have about 2 days out there… should be wrapping this project up next...

Still have to finish up mulching, running irrigation to all the new plants, boxing in the back porch with the 35, 7gal, wintergreen boxwoods and line the entrance walkway to the front door with some colorful annuals.

Customer added two little addition, one flower bed on the opposite side of the natural stone walk way that O.A. installed and another one around the Mo-dad system, to hide it from the guest. (It’s an eyesore), but not to much longer. 🌞😎

My new project… this is the house that I did all the prep work for toward the end of last year. They chose to wait till this year to do the planting, good thing too, cause of that freeze we had for days here in Louisiana.
All the rain has had this job at a standstill… finally got some cooperative weather. Time to start putting them in the ground.

Already planted 351 wintergreen boxwoods, boarding the flower beds. Have another 263 plants to go….🥵🥵 and some annuals.

Scope of work:
Had to repair irrigation lines, minimize flower beds, added sod after minimizing, build up flower beds about 9 inches, pulled all stuff that died from the freeze this past winter and replaced with new plants, annuals and fresh mulch.

This job was completed around the end of April 2021.
