Today I gave a presentation to the C7 Trafficking Coalition of North Texas. According to recent research, 58% of trafficking victim service providers experience clinical secondary traumatic stress also known as compassion fatigue. I am grateful for the opportunity to support our local organizations in the important work they do! If you’re looking to make a difference, consider donating to this organization!

As the Christmas holiday approaches you may be experiencing an increase in stress, pressure, and emotional overload. The holidays often come with unspoken expectations—about how we should feel, what we should do, and how everything is “supposed” to look. While there is often pressure to feel joyful, connected, or productive, the reality is that the holidays can also be stressful, overwhelming, or even painful for many people.

I’m sharing a gentle reminder that it’s okay to modify expectations this week. Coping doesn’t mean doing more—it often means giving yourself permission to do less, to be flexible, and to prioritize what truly matters to you.

You may find it helpful to reflect on which traditions, commitments, or expectations feel supportive—and which ones might be adding unnecessary stress this week. Letting go of perfection, doing less, and allowing space for rest or boundaries can be powerful forms of self-care.

If you notice stress increasing, know that you don’t have to navigate it alone. Reach out for support, to family, friends or if you need a therapist feel free to call (940-435-2371)

A great day at the Holly Jolly Market! I had the privilege of running the “Cool Down Corner,” an area where children/adults who may be feeling over-stimulated by the event can spend some time. My friend Corie created this incredible event for her school and has always made sure it’s a place all families can enjoy. I’ve never seen a better organized event!

In early fall I moved into my new office! I am now at 2717 Wind River Lane in Denton. I am still doing telehealth sessions but many still prefer in-person sessions too. Thankful for my practice and the honor of seeing lives changed. I love what I do. I see clients across the state of Texas and now accept insurance. Thankful for this season 🤎

Today I had the privelege of being the keynote speaker for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services program, “Hope for the Holidays.” It was a privelege to encourage Child Protective Services workers across the state of Texas as we head into the holidays! I am grateful for the work I do as a therapist.
