There’s a HUGE gap in the virtual space for coaches.

Now, there are a LOT of great service providers out there, don’t get us wrong.

They specialize in content or reoccurring tasks. Or customer service or operations set up. Maybe some messaging and email marketing.

And this is great - BUT it creates a gap for you as the coach.

Because as the CEO and expert coach you:

(1) have to find someone for each type of task, (2) explain and coordinate items across multiple channels every time something changes, (3) figure out who to give tasks to - or sometimes just do it yourself, (4) realize communication across platforms can become disconnected, and (5) get the sinking feeling that no one is taking a strategic look at everything. 😕

The podcast is going on summer hiatus ☀️

But don’t worry, we still got you: swipe to see podcasts we’ve already recorded for all different kinds of business topics.

We’re big advocates of everyone getting the rest they need - and that includes us!

It’s important to us to not only bring our unique brand of value to every episode, but to feel lit up and excited, in the inspirational “flow.”

So after today’s episode, “Thoughts About Rest and Taking a Summer Break,” we’re pressing pause when it comes to recording the podcast.

Over the past year, we’ve spent a lot of intentional time and energy unlearning hustle-y ways of thinking, and we realized lately we’ve been feeling the effects of being in go-go-go mode.

This is an important episode to hear, because often we want to take a break or stop doing a certain thing, but we think our business or livelihood will suffer from it.

We also want to be perceived as “consistent,” and to keep showing up for our clients.

What nobody tells you is that consistency is defined by the individual - you.

It takes a certain level of self-trust to go against the grain and rest instead of pushing through or forcing yourself through situations that probably aren’t serving you.

Also: 👉 rest and continuing to show up are NOT mutually exclusive!

When you’re a goal-setter, it’s really easy to think life will completely change for the better once you reach said goal.

You’ll think you’ve arrived:

• When you're consistently booking consults

• When you get fully booked

• When you hit your launch goal

• When you assemble a great business management team

But more often what actually happens is not the utopia you imagined. You achieve the goal, or “arrive,” and it doesn’t feel like enough.

You don’t have gratitude for where you are or what you’ve done, you move the goal post out again, and you keep striving and chasing the next achievement thinking relief is just around the corner. 🤯

What are you making it mean to have this goal? What do you think you’re going to get that you don’t already have?

Today we’re talking about creating feelings ahead of time, building belief in our intentions, and recognizing when we’re hanging all our hopes on an arrival fallacy.

We’re almost through the first quarter of the year, and before we even rolled into 2022, Instagram made it abundantly clear that they’d be rolling out another wave of changes to the platform (insert collective sigh here).

You might have noticed your follower reach and engagement plummet around December and struggle to recover.

You’re probably wondering “What the heck happened? My content is just as valuable as it was before, but people either A) don’t seem to be seeing it, B) are seeing it but not interacting with it, or C) they ARE seeing and interacting with it, but my follower count and conversions are stalled out.”

✨Which leaves the big question: What should you do when you’re being consistent with great content and not seeing a payoff?✨

Storytelling can never be underestimated when it comes to marketing your coaching business. 📝

A few tips to help you strengthen your storytelling skills:

• Get specific.

People connect way more to “I tossed and turned for weeks and fantasized about divorce” versus “I had relationship struggles.”

• Higher quality = fewer words.

A common misconception about conversational writing is that it means insert all the words you use when you talk. Ever read a podcast transcript word for word? Not super readable 😬

Using fewer, more impactful words to make your point is where the value shows up.

• Practice.

You have to hone your tone 😆 Practice writing what’s on your heart - what you know your people need to hear. Your unique voice will come through.

💡When you’re creating content, ask yourself, “Would my ideal client save this to review again and again?” If not, do some thought work around why that might be. And keep practicing.
