As part of the Procurement team you will be responsible for market research, sourcing goods & services, and managing purchase accounts. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spending, searching for better deals, making purchase payments, and finding more profitable suppliers.

E-commerce is driving warehouse rentals

Retailers in the all over the world are leasing industrial warehouse space faster than ever before due to the growing need to fulfill online orders, and the Covid-19 pandemic... according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

Companies are leasing more warehouses as they attempt to deliver better customer service to online shoppers through improved logistics. Same- and next-day delivery used to be available for a premium fee, but consumers now see these options as standard and don't want to pay extra for them. This has led retailers to begin leasing smaller distribution centers across the world.

By having many distribution centers located throughout the country, retailers are able to house products closer to consumers — this allows for faster deliveries and facilitates the returns process.

Traditional retailers are being forced to invest more in their logistics offerings in order to provide an optimal experience for the consumer. This is being driven by the general rise in e-commerce sales, in particular. The Census Bureau of the US Department of Commerce announced that retail e-commerce sales experienced YoY growth of 15.2% in Q1, which means that retailers are shipping more goods directly to the consumer than ever before.

Retailers will likely continue to invest in logistics capabilities, as they're further pressured by shifts in consumer delivery expectations.

The Forklift Operator will perform shipping & receiving duties, break down freight and categorize by location, read and document pack-slips and Bills of Lading, load and unload freight by forklift, perform general warehouse duties as needed following terminal specific requirements and Standard Operating Procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Load and unload trucks.
- Stock inventory.
- Palletize.
- Scan the Inbound and Outbound trucks when they load and unload.
- Log in the drivers on the Driver Log, log in the seal numbers on the Seal Log.
- Complete daily forklift checklist.
- Move materials throughout the distribution center and place products in designated areas.
- Retrieve and transport products to assigned slots.
- Identify products to be selected, sorted, and placed.
- Follow aisle specifications for product sorting and placement.
- Enter assigned products for each shift into the system.
- Operate industrial equipment including forklifts, and pallet jacks.
- Work safely to prevent injury and damage to products or equipment.
