Do you live, work, or have visited the Town of Morrison? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are kicking off the Morrison Main Street Revitalization Project, funded in part by a Safer Main Street grant from the Colorado Department of Transportation to design and construct safe, high-comfort, accessible, and compliant pedestrian crossings along Bear Creek Avenue, Morrison’s Main Street.

Visit our new Engage Morrison website, as it is the place to hear about what’s going on in Morrison and offers opportunities to participate in town projects virtually through various interactive engagement activities. Whether you live, work, or visit the Town of Morrison, we welcome you to sign up to get registered to join our online community! Drop a pin to show us your connection to Morrison and take the Traffic Calming Survey to provide feedback on design improvements that will make Morrison’s main street safe and inviting for people walking, biking, doing business, and visiting Old Town Morrison.

Had a wonderful time supporting our partners, Dinosaur Ridge at their Annual Gala -Rock Out for the Ridge, 70’s style. In line with when the Town of Morrison was incorporated (1872), we opted to dress up from the 1870’s. Fun was had by all with Graham Good and Painters keeping everyone dancing in true 70’s fashion!

As a small business made up of city planners, working throughout the great State of Colorado, our staff here at MDS recognizes that ALL communities - BIG and SMALL - are being greatly affected by this pandemic. Now more than ever, we must work together to share resources and knowledge on how to stay virtually in-touch with our communities-- so a huge THANK YOU to the many groups that are working to create landing pages of resources and advice during this time. Here are a few of our favorites:

"After the pandemic, we'll have a choice. Do we double-down on development patterns that have historically squandered resources and made our places fragile? Or do we upend the status quo to rebuild in a way that makes us resilient?" (Lauren at Strong Towns).

I encourage you all to read the article 'Effective Quarantines and Strong Towns' by Spencer Gardner. Gardner provides us an interesting perspective on right sizing a COVID-19 response.

Centralized systems are good at getting us cheap food, cars, and toilet paper—until they’re not. They’re also really bad at isolating deadly outbreaks.
