The first glimpse of the soon-to-be-released AI Strategy Consultant. DIY or engage a "human" consultant. Three phases:

1. Pre-strategic planning - AI-generated employee strategy interviews, strategic analysis, and strategic focus (all done by AI).

2. Strategic planning - the strategic leadership team builds on the employees' input to create the strategic foundation (traditional leadership meetings supported by software - yes, AI can't replace good ole fashion dialogue).

3. Strategic ex*****on - AI and software-supported ex*****on through internal peer groups.

Deion Sanders' ( ) first talk to the CU Buffs football team reminded me of generative A.I. Deion said, "I'm coming, I'm flat-out coming!" There is a lot of confusion about the direction and impact of GPT, but one thing that is not confusing is the pace at which it is moving. It is coming, it is flat-out coming, and it is real. ChatGPT is the fastest-growing website/platform in history. This train has left the station, and it is picking up speed. Let's hope the CU football team does the same! .

AI (GPT) may become anything. We don’t know. That statement is purposely vague but meaningful in the context of where we are today. What we do know is that it will have an impact. You must ask yourself, “how will it impact me?” Not if, but how. I read an article that said AI would impact 80% of the jobs in the US. Of course we don’t know that, and the impact will likely be positive for many.

Where does your job, career, or company fall in this spectrum of AI impact? Do you know, do you care, or should you?

Unfortunately, many won’t ask themselves these questions and will be susceptible to anything from minor change to significant disruption. If you ignore this, you may miss out on the opportunity to:

1) Embrace AI to advance your knowledge and skills
2) Adapt your focus so you can be an asset in a new economy
3) Continue the career path that you thought you were on
4) Maintain a joyful and fulfilling work life
5) Support the same standard of living you are accustomed to or aspire to.

Everyone has likely seen lists of jobs that GPT may substantially impact. However, here’s one I haven’t seen much written about, analyst.

• Business Analyst
• Financial Analyst
• Research Analyst
• Services Analyst
• Marketing Analyst
• Data Analyst
• Operations Analyst
• Compensation Analyst
• Credit Analyst
• You get the point

If your job title includes analyst, pay attention to the tension created by GPT. You will be impacted. The fact is AI can take large amounts of data and information, curate it, analyze it, and provide a summary in seconds. Can you do that? If you said no, pay attention to the tension. Those that interpret the data, the analyst’s boss, you will have to adapt to having AI generate the reports and analysis.

IS AI ( ) BIASED? Of course, but the better question is, compared to what, and does it even matter?
I wondered, have I ever written a paper that didn’t have some hint of my opinion/bias? I couldn’t think of any (this post is influenced by my opinion, too, sorry). Oh, there was that paper I plagiarized when I was in high school, but the writer of the paper I plagiarized had an opinion (biased).

Is AI biased? Yes. Compared to what? It is an improvement and contains fewer biases when comparing generative AI (GPT) to the alternative, human beings, and search funded by marketing dollars. GPT has no reputation bias, past bias, future bias, family bias, or geographic bias (well, maybe a little).

Think of life's three greatest false pursuits that impact human biases: power, reputation, and comfort. GPT isn’t seeking any of these, so its answers aren’t related to pursuing power, protecting a reputation, or seeking comfort. Instead, GPT will give you an honest answer. It doesn’t know how to lie. By the way, honesty does not mean correct. In some situations, the answer may be less than 100% correct, but it is honest. Can you say that about any human being? That is one reason why GPT threatens many people; it threatens their pursuit of power, reputation, and comfort.

Finally, does any of this even matter? Yes and no. My reason for asking this question is related to the momentum that GPT has. The train has left the station, and it is picking up steam. Ask about how fast the Open AI train is moving. See / LaMDA. Since generative AI isn’t perfect, its evolution must be scrutinized and adapted, but it won’t be stopped.

In summary, Is generative AI biased? Unfortunately, yes. However, it is substantially less biased than human beings and existing search. Finally, it is moving so rapidly that it can’t be stopped, so it is best managed.
