Friends and mentors have often commented that those of us in the music industry are fortunate to work in the “business of fun.” Through our steadfast work, we at BackForty aim to never take that privilege for granted.

Today marks the release of Futurebirds’ ‘Far Out Country,’ a double album that showcases the relentless work by a team of artists that have dedicated their livelihoods to art, brotherhood, experimentation, trust, and yes, fun.

Fans travel from the corners of the country to catch the ‘Birds flying across the stage, shredding, and standing back to back, trading solos, while throwing a party not just for the fans, but for themselves. They too, do not take this work for granted, never missing a weekly team meeting, where they consistently show us how artists balance livelihoods and work off the stage as well, while showing up for their families, fans, and co-workers all the same, and showcasing their truest selves on and offline.

Far Out Country is an album, that among many other things, showcases Futurebirds’ camaraderie, evolution, joy and how to rip. We at BackForty are proud to have fun (work) alongside Futurebirds and hope you enjoy this monster of an album.

Far Out Country. A destination. Not a genre.
