Try these 3-simple steps to implement new cannabis rules quickly and accurately🚀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Usually, communicating regulatory changes go something like this...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You read the regulations ➡️ You summarize the changes and regulatory requirements in an email/slack to the team ➡️ You request your team to read the regulation
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ Which is not an effective communication plan (or implementation strategy).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Why?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ask yourself, with this inefficient strategy, how can you instill accountability, knowing for certain your team read the rule/email/slack/etc?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Or how do YOU have the confidence that your team truly understands the ACTIONS they now need to take due to the updated rules and regulations?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Instead, try these 3-simple steps...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Update your SOP & highlight the changes in the document.
2️⃣ From your SOP, create a short 3 - 5 question quiz in google forms to check their knowledge.
3️⃣ In the google form quiz, add an acknowledgment that they read and understand the SOP with the new regulatory updates.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Why does this 3-step strategy work?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because your team only cares about...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✅ What are the changes?
✅ Do they impact their daily flows?
✅ If yes, what are the steps I now need to take?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And problem solved.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
(However, always trust but verify with on-site inspections)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🚀 With this 3-step method, you have streamlined operations, infused accountability, and captured data on the new knowledge your team has absorbed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🚀 Ready to build your compliance framework without losing your sanity?

Meet Rooz, the owner of Tropicanna Life in Santa Ana, California.

Over the past nearly 3 years, Rooz has hired multiple consultants to help with training, documentation, and oversight of his operations.

But, he had this looming feeling that something was still not right.

It kept him up at night with the possibilities of violations or having his dispensary shut down.

After working with RMCC, he now has clarity and peace of mind allowing him to sleep easy at night.

Today, he has his eyes on scaling his business in California.

Here is what Rooz had to say 👇🏼

"My business had multiple entities operating out of my license, and I knew something was wrong with my inventory control and operating procedures. The fear of the unknown kept me up at night. BriAnne was the first consultant to get my business back on track with compliance, operations, and inventory control through establishing job positions, operating procedures, and online training. Over the past year, BriAnne has been an asset and safety net to my business through quarterly audits. Now I can sleep easily knowing my business is protected through RMCC."

Do you want to implement this proven 4-step method in 4 months into your operation?

Staying with your state's 🍃 rules is not JUST the compliance officer's problem 🙅‍♀️

It's EVERYONE'S responsibility.

But too often, lower to middle management think, "oh, the compliance officers have this covered."

Which they may, but without easy access to internal resources, then things will fall through the cracks.

Here are some of my "best practices" when building a compliance program with team training 👇🏼

✅ Create an internal dashboard by job position to allow individuals to easily access their "on-the-job" resources.

Everyone WANTS to do their job correctly. Empower your team by making your team's resources easier to access.

Personally, I love Google Sites because its free 🤑

✅ Centralize, standardize, and scale your internal audit plan by creating a calendar linking to all your documents and audit templates (or checklists).

This system reduces the confusion on "WHEN" to inspect and audit your facilities, documentation, and inventory control.

✅ Establish accountability by measuring how well your team is absorbing your training plan. My favorite free resources? Teachable.

👀 peep what I see on the back end to ensure students are reviewing the materials ☝🏼

📈 But guess what?! This is the TIP of the iceberg in the methods, systems, and best practices I teach in my 1-hour free LIVE training.

Join me on Tuesday, 12/13 or Thursday, 12/15 where I breakdown my 4-step method to build, train, and scale your compliance program in 4-months (or less).

🚀 This proven method has been implemented into hundreds of cannabis businesses across the country.

Join me live, where you will walk away with clear actions you need to take to begin implementing your [emoji] compliance program.

100% Metrc automation?!

One Nevada retailer learned the hard way with a $45,000 fine...

For over reporting consumer purchase limits into Metrc from a disabled "safeguard" in their point-of-sale.

This is an unfortuante example of the need to find the "goldilocks zone" of cannabis compliance "automation" between the point-of-sale and Metrc.

Here are the details from the article👇🏼

"Nevada Organic Remedies, which owns and operates The Source ma*****na retail stores, discovered that a budtender sold more than the legally allowable 1 ounce of cannabis to a customer in May 2021, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The cannabis retailer was fined $45,000 by state regulators after self-reporting that an employee sold more than the legal limit of ma*****na.

Regulators initially considered fining the company $62,500 but walked back that amount after some discussion.

According to Nevada Organic Remedies, a safeguard in the company’s sales system that would have flagged the sale had been disabled."

I am currently taking on one new technology client to support Metrc automation and development into their product. If you are interested to learn more, click here:

Safeguards?

While creating assemblies in Metrc, there are no safeguards. The conversion process from Trim → Hash → Edibles is the biggest compliance risk for mistakes for manufacturers.
