Over the next week we will be sharing our findings.

“I…see many organizations playing it ‘safe’ to avoid losing funding or support,” said Z Williams, Director of Client Support and Operations at Denver-based Bread and Roses Legal Center. “In reality, incrementalism and liberalism will not save us. We need to be brave and aggressive. I don’t know if there was ever a time to be meek, but it isn’t now.”

While not surprised, we are disheartened and upset with the recent executive orders. Important article articulating tangible steps for individuals, communities, and organizations.

Under the Trump administration, transgender rights are at risk through executive orders and widespread anti-trans legislation. As transgender communities scramble to update documents, relocate for healthcare, and mobilize in advocacy, nonprofits and activists must plan legal strategies, build cross-...

Dear friends, partners, and community members,

As we move into this new year, we are carefully taking stock of the changing sociopolitical landscape around us, and what it means for our partners and colleagues. We know that things may feel uncertain for the future of equity, diversity, and inclusion work. However, we also know that when organizations commit to developing equitable systems, people fare better and thrive – both in and out of the office.

We are excited to launch our 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐬𝐞, a bi-annual annonymous survey intended to get a better sense of how individuals across our network feel about the current state of workplace equity efforts to help shape future strategies. Our hope is that your perspectives will help us understand how you are feeling, identify areas for growth, and respond with offerings that support you in the years to come.

We will share our findings this spring.

Thank you for partipating in this important conversation. To fill out this (short!) survey, please use the link below, and share with your networks.

Costco insists that its DEI program helps attract and retain talented employees, fosters innovation, and strengthens relationships with customers and suppliers.

“We welcome members from all walks of life,” Costco’s Board of Directors said. “As our membership diversifies, we believe that having a diverse team improves satisfaction. A diverse workforce brings creativity to our products, better understands customer preferences, and reflects the diverse backgrounds of the members we serve.”

👏👏👏

The company's board of directors will vote on the DEI program on Jan. 23, 2025

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. We honor those whose lives were lost to anti-transgender violence this year. 350 people were killed in 2024, up from 321 in 2023.

Transgender Day of Remembrance was founded in 1999 by transgender advocate Gwendolyn Ann Smith in memory of Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was killed in 1998.

“Transgender Day of Remembrance seeks to highlight the losses we face due to anti-transgender bigotry and violence. I am no stranger to the need to fight for our rights, and the right to simply exist is first and foremost. With so many seeking to erase transgender people — sometimes in the most brutal ways possible — it is vitally important that those we lose are remembered, and that we continue to fight for justice.”

Tomorrow is election day, and tensions are high. A few helpful tips as you go through your workday and week:

💡Attend to yourself first. This can look like doing breathing exercises, taking a walk, hydrating, connecting with someone you trust, and rescheduling meetings.

💡 Show empathy. Everyone is grappling with election stress in different ways, and it can show up differently for each person.

💡Be proactive. Acknowledge that things may become challenging, or feel more difficult at work.

💡Give grace. Disagreement is normal, even when people may have similar values and beliefs. Give grace to yourself and your colleagues during these upcoming days.
