This has been a difficult week for Denver City workers. Dedicated public servants are losing their livelihoods and now face uncertainty about how they will pay the bills, get medical care, and put food on the table.

While we know that the City has created an information page for affected employees, the Teamsters, AFSCME Colorado and CWA have joined together to provide additional information for employees who have been impacted by layoffs.

Webinars will take place this Thursday, 8/21 at 6:30 P.M. and Sunday 8/24 at 4:00 P.M.

We'll be joined by experts, union reps, and City Council members to go over how workers can access resources and appeal layoffs.

Please share with other Denver City Workers!

Good Morning Union Siblings!!!

We have an urgent call to action for our union siblings at Pueblo Water! They recently had an arbitration case that they got a favorable ruling on! We need your help to flood the inboxes of the board members asking them to accept the ruling! Please share far and wide! All members, family, friends, should write in. We are all voters in the upcoming board election where they will elect 3 new board members!!

We recently received an advisory arbitration decision in favor of our colleague, Mr. Herrera. The Pueblo Board of Water Works has a decision to make and we are asking them to do the right thing. Send an email to members of the Board asking them to approve the arbitration decision.

AFSCME Members in Denver City aren’t staying silent about upcoming layoffs and the uncertainty the city has caused. Yesterday, Mike Wallin spoke to 9News about the still unfolding situation at the city.

The mismanagement that caused these layoffs and the unjust process that the city has subjected to workers since they were announced make it clearer than ever: workers in the city of Denver need a voice at the table. And that’s exactly why they’re organizing a union with AFSCME Colorado.

The new report estimates that coverage losses could lead to delayed care, increased hospitalizations and more deaths. Its findings echo a study published in June.

We had a great time this weekend at our Denver Area Officer Training! And a few weekends back in Pueblo!

At both, we learned a lot, had some great discussions, and, most importantly, made connections with our union siblings.

We’ll have more opportunities like this coming up this summer and fall, so keep your eyes peeled for opportunities to learn and grow as unionists and labor activists!

Don't make a claim to a librarian without being able to back it up with facts.

In June, over 50 members showed up to support Jefferson County Library staff in their fight against a restrictive dress code proposal.

Nevertheless, the board dug their heels in, with one even making the claim that the turnout wasn’t a "significant" representation of the community. 🤔

So, this month, JeffCo staff sent around a petition to the community asking for their support. In just a few weeks, they received over 500 signatures in support (with that number rising still).

Yesterday, library workers and supporters returned to the board meeting and delivered the signatures as cold-hard proof of the unwavering support they have from the Jefferson County Community.

Next month, when we return to the table, the board must drop this ridiculous proposal and show the community they really to believe in inclusion, diversity, and freedom of expression.

This weekend, AFSCME Colorado members hit the doors in Pueblo to warn folks about the dangers of cutting Medicaid - especially when it's being pushed through by billionaire anti-union extremists looking to cut public services to fund tax breaks for them and their buddies!

Check out the video here, where member and representative Josette Jamarillo put it best.

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — Some community members in Pueblo came together on Sunday, May 18, to urge Representative Jeff Hurd to vote ‘No’ on any bill cutting funds to Medicaid. On Saturday, Rep…
