𝐒𝐄𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 - 𝐑𝐔𝐓𝐇 𝐃𝐄 𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐔́𝐒
Ruth de Jesús is a passionate multilingual interpreter and leader in the Trilingual (Spanish | ASL | English) community. She has served as the SIG Chair for the TSID Trilingual SIG, the Region 4 Representative for Mano a Mano, and as President of Mano a Mano, the national organization for Trilingual Interpreters.
She is a certified Trilingual (Spanish | ASL | English) Advanced Interpreter with over 15 years of professional interpreting experience. Ruth holds an Associate of Arts in Language and Cultural Studies in Spanish, an Associate of Arts in English, and a Bachelor’s degree in Principles and Methods of Language Education. Her diverse interpreting experience spans Video Relay Interpreting (VRI), Video Relay Services (VRS), medical, educational, legal, immigration court, business, government, and conference interpreting.
In addition to her interpreting work, Ruth has extensive experience as an instructor and mentor. She has taught in the Certificate in Trilingual Interpreting (CITRI) program at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID). She has also served as a mentor for several years, including the past two years with the Programa Educativo de Intérpretes en Puerto Rico – interpretación médica especializada.
Ruth is a seasoned presenter, having led workshops on trilingual interpreting and on how to work effectively with sign language interpreters at events such as the Texas Society of Interpreters for the Deaf (TSID), Texas Association of Healthcare Interpreters & Translators (TAHIT), and the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
As the owner of the Trilingual Interpreting & Training Academy, Ruth is dedicated to empowering interpreters through professional development opportunities. A proud Mexican born in Texas, Ruth now resides in Florida with her husband. She loves to travel and learn new languages, and is currently fluent in Spanish, English, American Sign Language, and Brazilian Portuguese.

Ruth de Jesús es una apasionada intérprete multilingüe y líder en la comunidad trilingüe (español | ASL | inglés). Ha desempeñado funciones como presidenta del Grupo de Interés Especial (SIG) de Trilingüismo de TSID, representante de la Región 4 de Mano a Mano y presidenta de Mano a Mano, la organización nacional de intérpretes trilingües.
Es intérprete trilingüe (español | ASL | inglés) certificada a nivel avanzado, con más de 15 años de experiencia profesional. Ruth posee un Associate of Arts en Estudios de Lengua y Cultura en Español, un Associate of Arts en Inglés y una licenciatura en Principios y Métodos de la Enseñanza de Idiomas. Su amplia experiencia incluye interpretación en Video Relay Interpreting (VRI), Video Relay Services (VRS), entornos médicos, educativos, legales, tribunales de inmigración, empresariales, gubernamentales y de conferencias.
Además de su labor como intérprete, Ruth cuenta con amplia experiencia como instructora y mentora. Orgullosa mexicana nacida en Texas, Ruth actualmente vive en Florida con su esposo. Le encanta viajar y aprender nuevos idiomas, y es fluida en español, inglés, lengua de señas americana y portugués brasileño.
