Today, let's talk about a topic that's near and dear to my heart: mental health. As the quote goes, "Your mental health is more important than your productivity." And let me tell you, this is one truth bomb that I fully support and so should you.

As leaders, we often place a lot of pressure on ourselves (and others) to be super productive all the time. But here's the thing: if we're not taking care of our mental health, we're not going to be able to bring our A-game to the table.

So, here's my message to all you amazing leaders out there: prioritize your mental health, even if it means taking a step back from your to-do list. Take a mental health day, go for a walk, talk to a therapist - whatever you need to do to take care of yourself.

Let's embrace our inner sloths from time to time and remember: your mental health is more important than your productivity. Let's take care of ourselves so we can be the best leaders we can be! 😎👍

Here's a little wisdom for you: Courage is like a muscle, you gotta exercise it to make it strong! So put on your workout gear and hit the gym this weekend... or the karaoke bar, or the hot sauce challenge, or whatever gives you the wi***es! 😅 Remember, the more you flex your courage, the stronger you'll become. Let's do this! 💪

Today's goal is a simple one: be brave enough to ask for help when you need it. That's right, there's no merit badge for doing all the hard things alone! (Although if there were, I'd probably have a whole sash full of them by now.)

As leaders, we often feel like we have to be superheroes - capable of handling any challenge that comes our way. But the truth is, we all have moments when we need a helping hand or a sounding board to bounce ideas off of. And that's totally okay!

So, the next time you're feeling overwhelmed or stuck, don't be afraid to reach out for help. Whether it's a colleague, a mentor, or even just a friend, there's no shame in asking for support. In fact, it's a sign of strength and courage to admit when you need a little extra assistance.

Remember, we're all in this together, and it's okay to lean on each other from time to time. So let's keep moving forward, together, and reach for the stars!

Just a little reminder for you today: "Every single one of us is a leader every single day."

Yep, you read that right! You might be thinking, "Hold on a second, I'm no CEO or superhero!" But guess what? Leadership isn't about fancy titles or capes. It's about the little moments of courage we show each day.

Picture this: You wake up in the morning, ready to tackle the day ahead. You muster up the courage to face those challenges head-on, whether it's speaking up in a meeting, lending a helping hand to a colleague, or even making that first bold move to start a conversation with someone new. That's leadership in action.

Leadership isn't always about being in charge; it's about making a positive impact in our own unique ways. Whether you're a student, a parent, an artist, or an athlete, you have the power to inspire others with your actions, words, and unwavering spirit.

So, let's embrace our inner leaders, folks! Let's lead with kindness, empathy, and a sprinkle of adventure. Let's light up the world with our courage, one small act at a time. Remember, you never know who you might inspire along the way.

Tag someone who embodies leadership every day and let them know how much you appreciate their courage. Together, let's unleash the leaders within us and make this world a brighter, more courageous place!

Here's some food for thought on change: People CAN change. YOU can't change them. Wise words, right?

And leaders, listen up: you can't change someone's values either. Those babies are instilled by age 9! That's why it's so important to hire for values rather than just skills.

Let's embrace change where we can, and focus on finding the right people to join our teams.

Hey there, my incredible ! Gather 'round for an awe-inspiring story that'll warm your heart and remind us all of the power of exceptional customer loyalty.

What leadership lessons can we glean from this?

1️⃣ Embrace Empathy: Chewy demonstrated a deep understanding of their customer's situation and showed genuine empathy. They went the extra mile to make a challenging time a little easier. Remember, a little empathy can go a long way in building meaningful, lifelong relationships.
2️⃣ Allow for Kindness: I'm betting this isn't a "policy" that Chewy has but rather they provide their employees with the autonomy to do what's right for the customer.
3️⃣ Foster a Giving Culture: Chewy's suggestion to donate the dog food to a shelter shows their commitment to giving back. As leaders, we have the power to instill a culture of generosity and create positive change in our communities.

I wish every company showed this type of empathy, kindness and giving don't you?

PS: Chewy's display of exceptional customer service, takes me back to my blog post a few years back that you may want to check out. (The 3 Secrets to "Wow"-Worthy Customer Service"). [Link is in the comments]

OMG, guys, you HAVE to check out my friend Lisa Williams' TED Talk! Trust me, it's like a burst of inspiration right into your soul. Lisa's been spreading her wisdom and inspiration during her "day job" as a senior leader and I'm thrilled that she has spread her wings to share her message more broadly.

Here's the thing that really hit me: "Fear alone is not your motivation, but instead should be the desire to move through it. Self-awareness, courage, and community can help you get through your fear."

If you're in need of a dose of positivity and a kick in the right direction, watch Lisa's TED Talk. Seriously, it's a game-changer! [link is in the comments]

Let's give Lisa a virtual standing ovation and flood the comments with love and appreciation. She deserves it, and I can't wait to see what amazing things she does next! Keep shining, Lisa!

Boom! As Ted Lasso would say... Truth Bomb. No surprise, it's actually more cost-effective to retain top talent than to embark on a never-ending cycle of recruiting and training new, unknown talent.

So, let's break it down, my friends: investing in our amazing employees is not only a smart financial move but also a testament to creating a thriving and loyal team. After all, why let an exceptional team member slip away when we can show them the love and appreciation they deserve?

Let's make sure they know they're valued, cherished, and indispensable to our shared success.

Share your thoughts, fellow courageous leaders! How do you navigate the delicate dance between retention and financial realities?

This hits the nail on the head! Success isn't something we should obsessively chase like a speedy cheetah (although that would be pretty impressive!). Instead, let's focus on becoming valuable individuals.

Picture yourself as a treasure chest of unique skills, experiences, and talents. By continually investing in your personal and professional growth, you unlock your full potential! When you become an invaluable asset to others, success naturally gravitates toward you like a moth to a flame!

So, how can we enhance our value, you ask? Start by honing your expertise and nurturing your passions. Share your knowledge, support your team, and embrace challenges that play to your strengths - and even those that don't.

Tell me, my fabulous friends, how do you plan to boost your value and let success find its way to you? Let's share our thoughts and inspire each other!

Just reminiscing about back when I was reporting live from South Africa with some new furry friends. Just hanging out with some cheetahs and thinking about what it means to be a great leader. And you know what? These big cats have some valuable lessons to teach us humans!

Lesson 1: Be agile and adaptable. Cheetahs are known for their lightning-fast speed and their ability to change direction at a moment's notice. As leaders, we need to be just as nimble and able to pivot when the situation calls for it.

Lesson 2: Embrace your strengths. Cheetahs are built for speed and hunting, and they know it. As leaders, we need to embrace our own unique strengths and use them to our advantage.

Lesson 3: Don't be afraid to take risks. Cheetahs are fearless hunters, taking on prey much larger than themselves without hesitation. As leaders, we need to have the same courage to take risks and go after big goals.

So there you have it, folks - leadership lessons from some of the coolest cats in Africa! What lessons have you learned from unexpected sources? Share in the comments below!
