Some projects you remember because of the outcome, or the challenges they presented. Some because of something special.
This poster, created while I was the Creative Director at Tribune Denver, is both.
It was certainly a challenge, as the only asset the band could provide was a black & white velox of their logo (a high-resolution black and white print on photo paper). I went to the record store, Tower Records to be specific, and purchased a couple of CD's and created the rest from a drum scan and Photoshop.
But that's not what makes it special. What made it special was Brad Delp, the former leader of the band, came to my office specifically to say "Thank You." Apparently they'd not had a concert poster created in years. He even signed a copy of the artwork, which I still have to this day.
It really made an impression on me, that a rock star would go out of his way to show appreciation like that.
