The best compliment I’ve ever gotten as a professional organizer? “It feels like a completely different room.”

This was the bedroom of an 18-year-old getting ready for his first day of college. His mom gave him a gift I don’t think he’ll ever forget: a fresh start in his own space, right before he starts a whole new chapter of his life.

In one session, we decluttered, cleaned, and reorganized everything. No magic, just a system that actually works for how he lives. The result is a room that feels lighter, calmer, and ready for what’s next.

Because here’s the thing: starting college isn’t just about a new school. It’s new routines, new challenges, and figuring out what kind of life you actually want to build. The last thing he needs is a cluttered room pulling his energy in ten directions.

We wanted his space to support what matters right now: learning, growing, and discovering his path. Not adding to the noise.

And that’s the real magic of what we do. It was never just about changing a room. It’s about changing a mindset. Because once you feel what an organized space does for your head, you don’t go back. Order is contagious.

Colombia is hurting right now.

The earthquake that hit on August 10th has left so many families searching for loved ones and trying to rebuild what they can. It’s been on our minds since we heard, and we know a lot of you have been asking how to help from here in the US.

We put together a link in our bio with official, verified relief organizations in Colombia, so you can send support directly to where it’s needed.

To be clear: The Organizing Recipe does not collect or receive any donations. That link only points you to confirmed official sources.

If you’re able to give, even a little helps right now.

Nobody talks about this before a trip. Everyone talks about what to pack, where to stay, how to save on flights. But nobody talks about what you leave behind and what you come home to.

I’ve been inside dozens of homes across Denver. And I can tell you: the difference between coming home feeling relieved and coming home feeling overwhelmed has nothing to do with how long the trip was. It has everything to do with what you did before you left.

These are the 6 things I do every single time before I leave for vacation so that walking back through my front door actually feels good.

Leave the house clean before you go. Because there is nothing better than opening that door and finding everything in order.

Unpack completely the same day you arrive home. A half-open suitcase sitting in the bedroom all week is just chaos on pause.

Start a load of laundry right away. It runs while you settle in and tomorrow it’s done instead of a pile you’re dreading.

Empty your toiletry bags and put everything away. Everything back in its home that same night. “I’ll do it tomorrow” never actually happens.

Reset the kitchen before bed. Counters clear, dishwasher running, coffee ready for the morning.
Don’t leave anything for tomorrow. 30 minutes tonight means tomorrow you actually get to enjoy being home.

Save this for your next trip. 🧳

Comment ROUTINE below and I’ll send you the full pre-vacation home checklist 20 things to do before you leave so coming home feels as good as the trip itself. Free, straight to your DMs. 🏠

He got 100% brain power. 🧠✨ He still went home first. 🏠

In Limitless, the guy takes a pill and instantly has the focus to build a business, write a bestseller, do everything he’s ever wanted. 💼📖 But watch closely: before any of that... he goes straight home. 👀

That part always gets skipped. And it’s the part that matters most for what I do. 👇

Because even with 100% of your brain, a messy house still steals your attention.

😮‍💨 Every unfinished task, every pile you’re stepping around, every “I’ll deal with that later” 🗂️ is quietly running in the background. You don’t notice how much space it’s taking up... until it’s gone. 🌬️

This isn’t about tidiness. It’s about creating room in your mind for whatever you’re actually trying to build 🧩: your career, your family, your next big idea.

💡 Clutter doesn’t just live on your counters. It lives in your head. 🧠💭

This is Ingredient #4 of The Organizing Recipe™️ Method: Reduce Mental Load.

Before we ever talk about bins or labels, we talk about what’s quietly competing for your attention that shouldn’t be.

You don’t need a pill. 💊❌ You need a system. ✅✨

Send me a DM 📩 and I’ll walk you through the exact process I use with my Denver clients to clear the mental clutter first, so the physical clutter finally makes sense. 🏡💛

Summer is fun until it isn’t. 😅 Family visits, kids home all day, everyone’s stuff everywhere, and by August this family looked at their home and said: this isn’t working anymore.

So before school routines kicked back in, we stepped in.

The closet had basically become a dumping ground. Not because anyone was messy, just because nobody had a system for it. We turned it into a seasonal closet that’s easy to switch out throughout the year, and now that room is clear, welcoming, and doing double duty as a guest room and a quiet space for whoever in the family needs five minutes to themselves.

Then the kitchen. This is a family of six, and every single one of them uses that kitchen differently. Decluttering was the real key here. Once we removed what they weren’t using anymore, everything else finally had a home, and we could build zones that actually make sense by age and routine.

We also reorganized the fridge so they can see what they have before it goes bad (this alone saves families so much money, you’d be surprised). And since part of their pantry lives in the basement, we brought that into the project too. Now the fridge, the kitchen pantry, and the basement pantry all work as one connected system instead of three separate guessing games.

This is what a reset looks like when it’s built for real life, not for a magazine.

It’s 8:15am on a Monday and I’m just... sitting here. Calm.

No rush. No “oh no, I forgot to“. Just coffee, a clear kitchen, and a big project ahead of me.

Yesterday I filmed my Sunday routine the one I actually use, every week, to fight that heavy Sunday feeling. You know the one. When you can already feel Monday breathing down your neck before it even starts.

Here’s what I did: changed the sheets, did laundry, got the whole house ready. My partner did the groceries and meal prepped for the week. We split it up because we’ve had that conversation already who’s better at what, who has time for what. Then we sat down together and looked at the week ahead.

That’s it. That’s the whole “secret.”

And this morning, I know I have a healthy meal ready to go. I know I’m not blowing my budget. I know that tonight, when I get home tired, there’s a clean, calm space waiting for me with dinner sorted and nowhere to dump my stress but somewhere peaceful.

None of this works because I’m perfect or have it all figured out. It works because we built a system. One that fits our actual life, right now, wherever we’re at. Only the things we need. Only the things we actually use. Knowing our priorities and understanding how our household really runs.

That’s the only thing I can offer you: there IS a way for your home to work for you. For your space to work for you. To stay in budget, to have time to actually enjoy your family in calm, not chaos.

Happy Monday. Happy new week.

150 years ago, Colorado became a state. 🏔️

But long before that, families were already putting down roots here between the mountains and the plains, through every kind of season. 🌄

I’ve spent years walking into people’s homes during some of their biggest transitions. And it never stops feeling like an honor. 🙏

Today I’m not just celebrating a state. I’m celebrating every family who’s opened their door and trusted me with what’s inside. 🚪💛

Happy 150th, Colorado. We’re so glad to call you home. 🥂🎉

Your closet is the first thing you see when you wake up. 👀

And the last thing you see before you go to sleep. 🌙

If it’s chaos in there that chaos doesn’t stay in the closet. It follows you through your whole day. Into every decision. Into every moment where you should be present but instead you’re thinking about that pile you left behind. 🧠

The thing is it’s never really about the clothes.

It’s about what those clothes represent. The job you outgrew. The size you’re waiting to get back to. The version of you from three years ago that’s still taking up space in your present. The “just in case” that never comes.

Your closet is holding a conversation with you every single morning. 👗

The question is: what is it saying?

Because when the system is right when every piece in there actually belongs to the life you’re living right now getting dressed stops being a task. It becomes the easiest part of your day. 🏡

I built a method for this. Five ingredients. One afternoon. And mornings that feel completely different on the other side.

Comment CLOSET below and I’ll send you my step by step method the same one I use with every client🤗🙌🏻❤️
