Well this is a first. I’ve never seen a state nor contry roll back a program. Once the cat is put of the bag trying to put it back in will be interesting to see how that happens. The Thailand program was always a bit odd as it was made for medical cannabis initially and then they moved to decriminalize which many assumed meant adult-use legalization, which was not the case. We are witnessing history in the making.

Thailand’s new government is moving ahead to pass new legisalation banning cannabis for recreational use in a major reversal 18 months after the country became the first in Asia to decriminalize the plant.

I have had these exact same thoughts and many more as I’ve been writing my 2023 end of year wrap up and 2024 predictions for shareholders and investors. It’s exciting to think of what is still yet to come for the cannabis industry and how many unique and amazing opportunities will exist in 2024 and beyond.

We still have a long road ahead but there is nothing I’d be rather doing than helping to work in and foster the growth of this world and paradigm changing cannabis plant and industry.

Well, it’s not the best news for Florida MMTC applicants, but at least we finally have an update from OMMU that they expect to announce vertical medical cannabis licenses by mid 2024. Good luck to all of our clients and applicants and hopefully the Sunshine State gets brighter next year for us.

I’ve been up in Maryland and the Northeast working with new and existing cannabis companies trying to get into these emerging markets. It’s crazy to think that just about ten years ago we started an adult-use program in Colorado and still nearly a decade later some states lack medical and adult-use cannabis programs Luckily, many of the lessons learned by regulators in the past are being incorporated into the laws of these new state programs and we are seeing massive strides forward in product quality and safety, environmental standards, and requirements for social equity programs in states like MD, NJ, NY, CT, and beyond. We still have a long way to go to reach equality in the cannabis industry but these numbers are very insightful in looking forward at the opportunities that lay ahead.
