CHFA employees had the opportunity over the past month to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. Our staff supported the construction of 20 new, affordable homes in Arvada. We appreciate our partnership with Habitat Denver and the opportunity they provide to increase affordable homeownership across the region.

Build connections to feel confident in your homeownership journey at the Road to Homeownership event on Thursday, June 18th, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in Denver. Learn how to plan, budget, and prepare for purchasing a home at the free event from BMO and Traillionaires Foundation. Greg Brown, CHFA Business Development Specialist, will be there to share information about CHFA resources.

LGBTQ+ Pride Month celebrated through the month of June commemorates the contributions of le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, and q***r (LGBTQ+) culture and community. As part of our efforts, CHFA invests in community-led nonprofits whose missions of affordable housing and economic opportunity are strengthening our state. CHFA will also be marching in the upcoming Denver Pride Parade.

CHFA staff supported Home Builders Foundation with its Blitz Build last week, building a wheelchair ramp for a family in Denver. Home Builders Foundation’s mission is to build independence, provide opportunities, and elevate lives for individuals and families with disabilities. Blitz Build is an opportunity for volunteers to support the Accessible Home Modification Program, which alleviates the burden of costly home modifications and ensures that Colorado homes are safe and accessible for individuals with disabilities.

Congratulations to Archway Communities and the many partners involved in the Creekside Flats groundbreaking celebration held this week in Denver! Upon completion, the development will offer 150 affordable apartments. CHFA provided an allocation of federal and state Housing Tax Credits to support the development.
