Like many other small entrepreneurial start-ups, Volume Nine was started in an unfinished basement (mine to be exact) using credit cards and home equity to get the business up and running. From the very first SEO consulting job which was a project done for Booyah Advertising in late 2005 as an independent contractor, you can flash forward to today where we support a client portfolio of over 120 cl
ients. Along the way, we have been recognized multiple times as a Fastest Growing Company by Inc 5000 and the Denver Business Journal. During our early years, our growth was fueled by some very specific innovations. One of these innovations was the development of an internal SEO Management Tool in 2008 that we called ‘Eduki’. Long before the Raven Tools or enterprise tools such as Conductor or Bright Edge became commonplace, we were able to spend less time on reporting and more time doing SEO for our clients. We also built a robust system that allowed us to write articles, do press releases, submit social bookmarks, and build microsites without being spammy or using automated tools. This system was the cornerstone of our operations until early 2012 when both Panda & Penguin had been officially released. Later in 2012, we decided to scale back SEO and expand our service offering by acquiring Findability Group. Along with its client base, we also welcomed a few new team members and started doing more PPC Management as well as Social Media and Website Development. During the middle of 2013, we found ourselves growing to 40 employees and almost 150 clients, but decided that it was time to focus back on what we knew best – SEO. Over the next few months, we expanded our partnership with Booyah to support PPC & Display for all of our clients and we finished out our remaining website projects by the end of 2013. During a time when most companies were getting out of SEO, we re-dedicated ourselves 100% to SEO, and today Volume Nine is the largest SEO company in Colorado and is hard at work to becoming one of the best SEO companies in the nation (of course we think we’re already there). I am very proud of the company, team and relationships we’ve built together here over the better part of the past decade, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us.
