This is why I started Joan’s Care.

Her name was Joan. She was in her nineties, still lifting weights, still driving her PT Cruiser, still pulling people onto the dance floor whenever big band music came on.

She lived with our family for the last five years of her life, and she showed us what it looks like when someone is truly supported. She stayed herself, all the way through.

Joan’s Care exists because of her. And because of the families who loved her.

Pets do something for the soul that's hard to put into words.

They keep you company on quiet mornings. They give your day a rhythm. They make a house feel warmer, fuller, and a little less lonely. For so many of our clients, their pet isn't just an animal, they're family.

But the bending, the lifting, the cleaning and the physical side of pet care can quietly become a challenge.

At Joan's Care, we help with the parts that have gotten harder, so you never have to think about giving up the parts that matter most. Cleaning the litter box, helping with feeding, going on walks, the little daily tasks that keep things running smoothly.

Because a pet is routine. A pet is comfort. A pet is a reason to get up in the morning and a warm presence at the end of the day.

Today is National Senior Health and Fitness Day, and we think that's worth celebrating!

Not because health looks one specific way. But because every step counts. Every walk around the block, every bit of movement, every moment spent outdoors in the fresh air all adds up to something meaningful.

At Joan's Care, we love any excuse to get moving alongside our clients. A walk isn't just exercise. It's conversation. It's sunshine. It's a reminder that life is still full and worth showing up for.

Staying active looks different for everyone. And that's okay. What matters is that you're not doing it alone.

Sometimes the call doesn't get answered. And that's exactly why we have a key.

A quick check-in call, no answer, so we show up (spare key in hand) to find your mom had accidentally locked herself out. Crisis averted, problem solved, and now she is one very relieved woman back in her home.

That's what our On-Call Service is all about.

For families who want to travel, take a vacation, or simply have a weekend away without worry, we step in. Two check-in calls a day, at least one in-person visit, the spare keys, the medication details, a spot on the emergency dial list, and daily update texts for the family. Day or night, if something comes up, we show up.

Because your mom deserves to feel looked after. And you deserve to actually rest while you're away.

Peace of mind doesn't have to mean staying home. It just means having the right people in place while you're gone.

For a lot of people, the yard is everything: the garden that's been tended for years, the flowers that come back every spring, the simple satisfaction of a lawn that looks just right. It's not just yard work. It's pride. It's joy. It's home.
