Craig Morgan and I had a little bit of time prior to the concert where we got to talk and some some final paperwork prior to the ceremony. I had his book and I asked him for some words of advice and encouragement to make it through the last 6years of my enlistment or however long it will be. In my book he wrote two simple words that now hit harder than before. “Be Proud” to some degree I didn’t really understand it even after we talked about it. Now sitting here reminiscing about it, it makes sense. Be proud of your service. Be proud of your job. Be proud of what you do for this country. It doesn’t matter if you’re a basic admin clerk or a tip of the spear door kicker with the 75th Ranger regiment or First Special Operations Group, or your just a regular joe in a line unit. whatever it may be that you do just be proud of that and what you’ve done for this country.
