Pump some iron to pump up your weight loss! 💪

🏋️‍♂️ Resistance training, whether it involves lifting weights, bodyweight exercises, or resistance bands, is a great way to build muscle and increase your resting metabolic rate. 🔥

💼 In other words, you'll burn more calories even when you're not exercising.

Plus, it helps preserve muscle mass during weight loss, ensuring that what you lose primarily is fat. 🏋️‍♀️📉

Counting macros for beginners

When it comes to counting your macros the most important thing to remember in my opinion is gonna be that carbs & protein = 4kCals & Fats = 9kCals so 1 gram of fat it’s twice the calories so remember that next time you want to put that dressing or that extra cheese on your meal

Another very important thing to remember when counting your macros is what your macros are in the first place. I’ll have a post last this week going into more detail about how to figure out YOUR macros but for the purpose of this post I’ll include a link to a good Macro Calculator in the comments below

If you are trying to build or maintain muscle mass but still want to lose body fat, a good rule of thumb is to try to get atleast 1g of protein per pound of Body Weight, if you weigh a lot you can go off of lean body mass just know that you might lose muscle since your body is used to carrying more weight.

For fats I like to stay under 80g year round, & I like to start my weight loss journey at around 65g to give myself alot of wiggle room at the start

Carbs is the easiest one, after figuring out your Protein & Fats, whatever you have left for calories use that for carbs

Yourself in 6 months is gonna be tired! You at the moment are just lazy!
Don’t stop before you even really got started!

How you feel may be because of your sleep & why it’s so important

Do you ever feel foggy, always sick, unhappy, your workouts are feeling hard, or maybe you can’t seem to lose weight?

Maybe the problem is as simple as you are just tired & you’re not listening to your body so it’s making you feel not the greatest.

Sleep directly effects your mood, hormone production, stress, metabolism, even increase risk to heart disease

Preparing for a good night sleep starts in the morning believe it or not. A lot of people
Sleep in until 10,11,12 pm, or they even go to bed at like 4-5 am consistently & wake up 8 am for work

So try waking up early, around the same time every morning, I like using a sleep tracking app that tells me when I should get ready for bed, how i slept, when I should wake up, & it acts as a little gentle alarm on my Apple Watch ( sleep watch )

Another big thing is get moving right away, I even fall in the trap of grabbing my phone and rolling over & waking up a couple hours later then I feel more tired then I was when I first woke up. Has that ever happened to you?

Make sure to clear your mind, going to bed stressing about something just isn’t worth it, not only might it keep you up but if you start your day with stress then that’s just setting yourself up for failure in my opinion. So make sure you get whatever you need to get done, done, & give yourself some time to wind down before going to bed

A very important thing is sleeping Atleast 7 hours, if you can’t do that because of “life” I understand, but adding even 30 mins the night before will make a huge difference to how you feel the next morning
