“How to Best Prepare” for Sale Day!
1. Be Calm, Courteous, Classy and Respectful to the following:
- other customers
- our volunteers/staff members
- the home and its contents inside
- the land and property
2. We have a Sign-up sheet*RULES HAVE CHANGED*
1. For customers that like to arrive early, the sign-up sheet is often located by the front door, this holds your place in line so you can leave and come back. Yes you can now leave after you sign-in, as long as you are back by 8:45 am the morning of the sale, otherwise you will lose your spot in line. Please read the directions on the sign-up sheet before signing your name so it is clear to you what is expected. Only one name per line. You cannot sign up as a couple. Each name needs their own number. This helps us determine how many people are in the house for safety reasons.
2. People often ask how early we put the sign-up sheet out, we have always put the sign-up sheet out the evening before the sale, because that is the only way we can get the sheet out in time for the early birds the next morning. It will be put out by 4pm the evening before.
3. At 8:45 am, the sign-up sheet closes and we start lining up people by their number. Please make sure to remember your number as we will not be yelling out names. We will confirm your name when you get in line. If you are unsure of your number, you can always ask as we are lining up people.
4. At 9:00 am we will open the door and start letting the line in, in the order we placed you in at 8:45 am.
5. People that arrive after the sign-up sheet is closed, please line up at the end of the “sign-up sheet” line. Thank you all for your patience as we work through these new sign-up rules. So far it is working. 🙂
3. We are a One day sale only. If we feel there is a need to have a second day sale, we will advertise on our social media later that day or next day, early morning. We do markdowns at Noon. Prices are always open to Negotiation. There might be some items, due to client’s wishes, that are non-negotiable.
4. We are called a “Tag Sale” company for a reason. Most of our important, larger, and/or higher-end items are always going to have a white price tag attached to each item for sale. Please note if the tag is on an item that is larger, hard to carry, and/or very fragile to move, make sure to grab the tag first, and let a worker know that you grabbed the tag so they can mark it as sold, to help prevent it from being double sold. Whoever has the tag-gets first dibs on the item.
5. We accept multiple forms of payment options such as: Cash, Venmo, Credit Card, Apple Tap Pay and Check.
6. Furniture expectations: We do not expect you to know ahead of time that you are going to purchase a larger furniture item from our sale. We are flexible and give you time to make arrangements for moving and loading furniture. Our staff/volunteers are not expected to help with carrying large/heavy items out of the house. If you are unable to carry your belongings out of the house by yourself, we can hold your item until you can find a time to get help with the items out of the house, only if the item is paid for in advance. We often will be back on Sunday, the next day, from 12-2 pm to allow people to come back and pick up furniture.
7. What do you with the items left over from the sale? This decision is ultimately up to the owner of the estate. We have them assess what is left and then we help advise them on what to do with what is left. First we help them get in contact with Local Donation Centers that will come, pack and move away the contents that are left, that they wish to take. Whatever is left, what the donation center cannot take, we work with a third party hauling company that will help clear out the remaining contents left in the house. Buyout offers are aways welcome, however, may not always be accepted by the owner of the estate.
