Introducing the newest member of my household:
DRK Wayfinder’s Independence.
Aka: Indy

I’ve been contemplating a field breed Golden for a few years. The timing was right to move in some new directions.

Special thanks to those that prompted, supported and gave guidance on the breed Kevin Lee, Mark Atwater, Pete Fischer, Scott Harris, Jerry DeRose and to one of my beloved mentors, George Cockrellwho first peaked my interest so many years ago about the “red swamp collie.” ❤️

Great work by all of these folks at this weekend’s Dog Camp! We had a group of pet owners who worked on training reliability and improving relationships with their dogs. And we also had a few pro trainers who attended to see in person how I teach these workshops, learning how they may implement them in their own communities.

We’re 2 days into Dog Camp and we’ve covered SO MANY topics in that short amount of time. The dogs are at varying skill levels, so we have been able to introduce the ecollar to new dogs, as well as advance and improve those who’ve been using the ecollar for a while.

We’ve also discussed how to incorporate play into training, how a dog’s drives impact their behavior, and learn about energy levels and how to create an “off” switch. Plus, talked about how other life factors like genetics, diet, and vaccines influence our pets.

Looking forward to day 3 with this group!

Had a busy weekend prepping for Dog Camp. Getting close to having the training center all set, plus Maddie and I baked over 10 dozen cookies for camp and the upcoming June Ecademy.

One thing about attending a workshop hosted at my place - you will be eating good! 😉
