Friends, one way you can help animals that are displaced by a natural disaster is to adopt shelter animals that have been there since BEFORE the disaster. This will provide room for the animals who are homeless as a result of a tornado, hurricane etc. so that animals' owners can find their pets. Also it helps lower the rate of euthanasia for shelter animals. WIN WIN!

A gentle reminder to protect your pets in this extreme heat. Plenty of cold fresh water, shade, and if possible air conditioning. If in car, no closed windows and remember to bring plenty of water if you're travelling. My doberman doesn't want to go outside today it's ridiculous!

A post on the AL Tornado Animals page states that one way you can help animals in AL is to adopt animals that have been in shelters since BEFORE the tornadoes. To free up space for displaced pets, and to increase their chances of being reunited w/ their owners. This will ALSO decrease the number of pre tornado shelter animals that will be euthanized due to lack of space.
