Hey all! We have our Serving Those Who Served Graduation event coming up on Sunday, September 20th. We could use some items for our Silent Auction. If you have any items that you would be willing to donate, we would definitely appreciate it.

Also, please join us at the event on the 20th. It is open to the public, doors open at 1pm at the Frazee Event Center. All we ask for is a free will donation for the food. Come out and see our teams from over the last year graduate!

Yesterday Anubis fell ill. His temperature spiked, he became lethargic and was drooling. We rushed him to Red River Emergency Animal Hospital in Fargo.

Anubis is now stable in the hospital. His fever has dropped from 107 to 103. The source of infection has not been located as of yet, but he is being treated with a broad spectrum IV antibiotic, as well as with medication to deal with a possible anaplasmosis infection (a tick borne illness) while they wait for additional test results.

Once he more stable, eating and drinking, and his temperature can be controlled with oral medication he will be coming home with one of our fosters for in-home care until he is a healthy boy again.

In the meantime, charges are racking up. Anubis is a young dog, with potential through the roof. He came to us from a rescue, and has excelled with his training. We could use your help with his medical bills. EVERY DOLLAR counts!

Willie's surgery went as well as it could today. He was under for about three hours. The offending piece of wire was removed, while a tiny piece that would have required removal of bone was left in.

He came home highly medicated and will be very restricted in his activity over the next few weeks. Thankfully, if all heals as expected, he will be able to return to his training and become a service dog. Either way we would have progressed with surgery because it is what he needed to live a life free of pain. We make a promise to every dog we bring in to the program that they will have a good life, and Willie deserves nothing less!

He was a good boy today, but was happy to get back to his foster home.

We could still use help with his medical bills, every dollar counts! We will keep you updated on his progress.
