🏀 Big News for High School Athletes & Parents in Michigan!
The MHSAA Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) Policy Explained now officially recognizes Personal Branding Activities (PBA). That means high school athletes can earn compensation through things like:
• Social media endorsements
• Personal appearances or autograph sessions
• Merchandise or apparel sales
• Photo sessions and promotions
These opportunities are allowed as long as they meet the MHSAA rules which means:
✔️ No use of school logos, mascots, or facilities
✔️ Activities can’t happen during school hours or school events
✔️ No school or coach involvement in arranging deals
✔️ All deals must be disclosed within 7 days to the school/MHSAA 
This is a big shift in the landscape for student-athletes but it also comes with rules, reporting requirements, and things families NEED to understand before entering agreements.
