NCECA CONFERENCE IN DETROIT — THIS WEEK!
The 60th Annual NCECA conference is happening in Detroit this week — March 25-28, 2026.
The National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts is a dynamic organization that inspires global advancement and appreciation of the field through programs, exhibitions, opportunities and resources. Pewabic is excited to be one of dozens of participating venues showcasing ceramic arts for the thousands of ceramic artists, students, educators, collectors, and enthusiasts that will be arriving in Detroit for this year's conference.
Visit Pewabic this week to enjoy an open house for you to explore our National Historic Landmark studios. Visitors can explore the Pewabic Museum and Store. The kiln pad is activated for the Ben Chamberlain Memorial Exhibition, and the store will feature extra displays of one-of-a-kind iridescent vases alongside our regular work. Ceramic art by artists throughout North America and beyond is on view in our Independent Artists Gallery and under the pergola in our courtyard!

POTTERY TOURS THIS WEEK
On Monday, March 23, and Tuesday, March 24, partake in a pre-conference ticketed docent-led pottery tour, Register now to save your spot! Our fabrication studios will be open Wednesday, March 25 - Saturday, March 28, for free strolling tours where you can see the people, processes, and equipment that make our iconic ceramics.
Pewabic is honored to be receiving a 2026 Regional Award of Excellence during the conference. We are all getting excited to introduce so many folks to Pewabic and our history of handcrafting ceramic art in Detroit!

BEN CHAMBERLAIN MEMORIAL EXHIBITION
Pewabic is proud to present this exhibition celebrating the life and work of former Pewabic staff member Ben Chamberlain.
Artwork by this beloved studio potter, kiln designer and builder, and charcuterie connoisseur will be showcased on our Education Studio kiln pad now through Saturday, March 28.

Learn about Pewabic's rich history in our upstairs museum, during a docent-led Pottery tour. Spots are available for next Monday and Tuesday tours — register now to save your spot! These cold months are also the perfect time to dive into our virtual history talks.
