Over 97% of small business owners use these terms in their marketing message: “Quality”, “Customer Service”, “Affordable”, “Style” and/or “Experience”. Most small businesses are convinced that this will separate them from their competition. However, they still end up with customers inquiring about their pricing. Why? Because customers are trying to figure out what fulfills them and their investment other than your “top customer service”. If you're a small business owner, ask yourself: Why should your target audience choose you over your competition? How can you provide value instead of just being the cheapest option?

It’s crucial to remember that the message you convey and how it's perceived by your target audience is the cornerstone of your marketing strategy. Rather than rushing into investing in a lead generator, take a step back and concentrate on your brand identity. Start by asking yourself what type of company you want your ideal customer to perceive you as: Do we want to position ourselves as a service-based company, or an investment? Consider what is more valuable to you and your brand.
